Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both attitudes: the first body paragraph explains why some people prioritise work, while the next describes hobbies as a source of relaxation. The taxi-driver example supports the work-focused view, and the gym or walking example is relevant to leisure. Your opinion that both matter is stated in the introduction and conclusion. However, the position is only briefly explained, and the discussion remains general: for example, you do not explore how work and leisure might be balanced or why hobbies can benefit someone beyond reducing stress. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation and a specific consequence or example so that all parts of the task are addressed more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two attitudes, and a concluding opinion. The contrast marker “On the other hand” helps signal the shift between viewpoints, and the examples generally appear beside the ideas they support. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive: several sentences begin with “People think/believe,” which makes the links feel mechanical rather than varied. The introduction also combines the two views and your opinion in a crowded sentence, while the conclusion repeats the position without drawing the discussion together. Use clearer topic sentences, vary referencing, and connect each example explicitly to the point it illustrates.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “job,” “hobbies,” “relaxation,” “stress,” and “families.” Some phrases also show an attempt to express more specific meanings, such as “night shifts” and “positive attitude.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors are noticeable, including “cruical,” “wastage of time,” “feed up with their job,” and “stressfree mind.” Repetition of “important,” “people,” and “activities” also restricts precision. Build a bank of natural phrases for work-life balance and leisure, and check spelling and collocations so your meaning is consistently clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, examples, and contrast, so there is some variety in structure. The main message is usually understandable. However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “Some people thinks” and “taxi drivers spends” use incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “People believe that other activities are just wastage of time and money so its better” needs clearer punctuation and clause structure. The opening also joins separate claims without a clear sentence boundary. Practise accurate present-tense agreement and build longer sentences around one clear main clause, using punctuation to separate supporting ideas.
