Student answer (Band 4.5)
Working is an important part of life and it have both positive and negative impacts on our lives. In the following paragraphs I give reasons to support my answer.
First of all, hard working is a key of success but having interests in hobbies or other activities are also important which can help people to relax after a very hectic day.
Many people regard work as the most important thing in life and have little interest in anything else but it can make them feel stressed and frusrated after a very long working day. Afterall, they prioritise their work and spend time in working for too long.
Secondly, working and leisure interests are important in their own perspectives. Some other people are more enthusiastic about their hobbies and interests than their job because they keep themselves engaged in the activities and these things not make their lives boring.
The growth of a person depends on learning new things from their environment from these thing the personality of a person developed and it can leads to a very peaceful life.
I personally beleive that both have their own importance and people always do what makes them happy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You mention both attitudes: prioritising work and preferring hobbies, and you give a personal view that both matter. However, the discussion is minimal and the opinion is not clearly explained or supported with specific examples. For instance, you say long working hours can cause stress, but do not explain the consequences or give evidence; the point about hobbies preventing life from becoming boring is also brief. The sentence about personal growth and a peaceful life is not clearly connected to either attitude. The response contains 170 words, so it is 80 words below the 250-word minimum; 26 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each side in a separate paragraph and support your position with relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is some basic paragraphing, and signposts such as “First of all” and “Secondly” show an attempt to organise the discussion. However, ideas do not progress clearly from one point to the next, and the short paragraphs often introduce claims without explaining their links. For example, the move from hobbies keeping life interesting to “The growth of a person” feels abrupt, while “from these thing” does not make the reference clear. The opening promises reasons to support an answer, but the body does not develop a consistent line of reasoning. Use a clear structure—one paragraph for each attitude, followed by your opinion—and connect each example directly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “prioritise,” “enthusiastic,” “leisure interests,” and “stressed,” so the reader can generally understand the discussion. However, the range is limited and several choices or forms are inaccurate or awkward, such as “hard working is a key of success,” “frusrated,” “Afterall,” and “these things not make their lives boring.” Repetition of “important,” “people,” and “life” also limits precision. Aim to use a wider range of natural collocations and check spelling and word forms. For example, describe work as “a key to success” and say hobbies “prevent life from becoming monotonous.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a contrast with “but” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “it have both positive and negative impacts,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “these things not make their lives boring,” which is missing an auxiliary. In “the personality of a person developed,” the verb form is incomplete, and “it can leads” incorrectly combines a modal with a third-person verb form. Practise subject–verb agreement, modal verb patterns, and complete clauses, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
