Student answer (Band 5.5)

Most of the people regard work as the very important thing in life and have little interest in other activities .Other people are more interested in their hobbies and cocuuricular activites and show more interst in their hobbies rather than their daily work.I have discuss both of these views and also write my opinion.

Examining the former opinion, the primmary argument the supporters will put forward is those people which has taken their work as the most important thing along with little interest in their hobbies because they thought that doing work make them financial stable and those people who workhard can achieve their carier goals .In addition they also believe that it make them active if they actively do their jobs rather than doing any other activity They do their hobbies to take rest and to get rid of stress. For instance,A boy who work hard becomes a good Buisnessman,a Doctor or an Engineer.

On the contrary ,those in favour of the latter opinion ,have their own arguments. To begin with they calm that some people are those which take more interest in hobbies and give their time to hobbies and taken their work forgranted .there are several reasons for this as they thought that hobbies reduces their stress and anxiety .They became happy . On the otherhand they wanted to build their future in sports and became a good athelete . They became happy by enjoying a quality time with their parents .they have little interest in their jobs .For instance,A young one give their best in their hobbies and become a good Athelete .

To conclude and offer my opinion ,both for and against these arguments i want to say that both of these people do their best and maintain their future . If they only consider one thing they may be feel mentally tired and sick .However, i certainly favour those people whho take their jobs more important than thair other activities .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both attitudes and give a personal preference, so the response addresses the main parts of the prompt. The first body paragraph links prioritising work with financial stability and career goals, while the second mentions stress relief, enjoyment and ambitions in sport. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than explained, and the examples—such as a boy becoming a businessman or athlete—are general and do not show how the attitudes affect people’s lives. Your position is also not fully clear: you say both groups “do their best,” then favour people who prioritise jobs, without explaining why this is preferable. Develop each side with a specific reason and example, and make your own judgement consistent throughout. The response meets the required length; nine words copied from the task prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each attitude, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the contrary” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear because several points are placed together without showing how they connect. For example, the second body paragraph moves from stress relief to sports ambitions and then family time, with little development between these ideas. Some linking phrases are also repetitive or awkward, and references such as “those people” and “they” can make it difficult to identify who is meant. Organise each paragraph around one main idea, explain it, and use clearer references and transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “financial stable,” “career goals,” “stress and anxiety,” and “quality time.” These choices show an attempt to discuss work and leisure beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “take their work forgranted,” “hobbies reduces their stress,” and “build their future in sports.” Spelling errors such as “cocuuricular,” “Buisnessman,” and “athelete” are also noticeable. Aim to use accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully; a smaller set of well-controlled topic words would make your ideas clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “if,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries. For example, “those people which has taken” has incorrect relative-pronoun and subject–verb agreement, while “hobbies reduces” does not match the plural subject. In “A boy who work hard becomes,” the verb form is also incorrect. Punctuation and spacing around commas and full stops are inconsistent, and some sentences run together. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly controlled subordinate clause before adding more complexity.
