Student answer (Band 5.0)
it is argued that some people regard work as the most important thing in life and have little interest in anything else amd other ones more enthusiastic about their hobbies and leisure interests than their jobs ' in my opinion when someon focus on thing to work in it he should doing hard for acheiving his dreams and not looking around and give interest to somthing else .
in one hand ' some people learning about profession and study harder for reaching exactly where they want and having experince for years by focusing about the job wanna work it for sure they cant wasting time for stuff may cant be intrested in ' however in this life needs a lot of motivitation and courage for succeed and also discpline can be the main thing for one job to be focusin in it and makes you busy .
in other hand there are ones enthusiastic about thier hobbies and arts and like to practice and give to thier self space for learning and upgrade evething in thier lifes significantely ' as hobbies for example playing guitar or singing thjs is also benefical thing for every human and honestly its could take them far away and getting intrested in hobbies more than thier real job in any case this all can get them out in future seing themself somthing popular and its could be better than thier first job
in conclusion ' booth of them has goals and every one has his own way to see his interest and what helps him ' truly 2 ways its can be succeded when someon know what he doing .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You discuss both attitudes: the first body paragraph presents commitment to a profession, while the second considers hobbies such as playing guitar or singing. You also give a personal view, but it is difficult to identify a clear, consistent position: the opening favours focusing on work, whereas the conclusion says both approaches can succeed without stating which you consider preferable. The ideas remain general and are not supported with a specific example or developed explanation of their consequences. The response also falls four words short of the 250-word minimum; the 29 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. To strengthen the response, state your opinion clearly and support each main point with a relevant example and fuller explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two attitudes, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main sections. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are joined together without clear relationships. For example, the work paragraph moves from studying for a profession to motivation, courage, and discipline without explaining how these points connect. Linking phrases such as “in one hand” and “in other hand” are repeated and not used accurately, while the conclusion introduces the idea that both paths can succeed without resolving the earlier preference. Use clear topic sentences, develop one point at a time, and connect examples explicitly to your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “profession,” “motivation,” “discipline,” “enthusiastic,” and “beneficial.” These choices show some awareness of the language needed to discuss work and leisure. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “intrested,” “significantely,” and “upgrade evething.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “give to their self space” and “getting them out in future.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for discussing career goals, personal interests, and work-life balance. Aim to express each idea with precise, natural phrases rather than repeating broad terms such as “thing” and “interest.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt some longer sentences and use basic structures to compare the two attitudes, but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction frequently make the meaning unclear. For instance, “he should doing hard” needs a correctly formed verb pattern, and “both of them has goals” has an agreement error. The opening sentence also runs into the opinion without clear sentence boundaries, and punctuation is often missing or misplaced. These problems make it difficult to follow some ideas, even though the overall topic remains recognisable. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using controlled clauses; check subject–verb agreement, verb patterns, and full stops.
