Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some individuals priortize the leisure activities in their life then professional life to enjoy the life moment. while other argued that professional life is more crucial for person and they do not give value to other things. In my opinion both them have their own importance in a life.

There are so many reasons, peoples are prefer to work hard to get good job in the relative fields of their education. In many developing countries people are dependent on the job to fulfill the basic need of life, therefore job play a vital role in a person life. As a Doctor, Engineer and other jobs have different value in society as people give respect to them. Without job in a society a person does not have any value in this society. some people feels proud from the job. for example teaching profession over the world is most respected profession. Because the teacher play important in development of society.

On the other side, some people maintain a proper balance between work pressure and hobbies. In the recent time the work pressure on the people increase drastically which effects the human health mentally and physically, therefore people playing different outdoor games and activities to relieve stress among the people. Happy life need a proper life balance. As the hobbies make person more creative and happy in life. For instance some individuals like to capture the nature in the photo and video forms then they edit this according to their taste and then post on different apps. In my opinion, although work is essential in financial stability, a balanced life with leisure activities is more important for long term happiness and mental wellbeing.

To conclude, work-life balance is more important in a person life, otherwise the person may suffer from stress and anxiety due to continous struggles of life. I believe that hobby is a source of happiness and creativity of human life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both attitudes: the second paragraph explains why work matters for income, social contribution and pride, while the next discusses hobbies as a way to reduce stress and support creativity. Your own view is also clear: you favour balance and leisure for long-term happiness, especially in the final sentences. These are relevant points, but some are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that a person without a job has “no value” is broad and needs qualification or evidence, and the photography example illustrates a hobby without showing in detail how it contributes to wellbeing. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation and a specific, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two attitudes, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the other side,” “For instance” and “To conclude” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, some links feel mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs is not always smooth. The work paragraph moves from basic needs to professional respect and then teaching, without clearly showing how these points connect. The opening sentence also begins with “while” as a separate sentence, disrupting the flow. Group related points more deliberately, use clearer referencing, and make each paragraph develop one central idea from explanation to example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “work pressure,” “financial stability,” “creative” and “mental wellbeing,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “fulfill the basic need of life” and “relieve stress.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “prioritize the leisure activities … then professional life,” “give value to other things,” and “capture the nature in the photo and video forms.” Spelling errors such as “priortize” and “continous” also reduce control. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling; for example, say “prioritise leisure over work” and “photograph nature.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “Without job in a society a person does not have any value” and a concession in “although work is essential …”. This shows some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “people are prefer,” “job play a vital role,” and “the work pressure … increase,” where verb forms or agreement are faulty. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention: “while other argued” follows a full stop, and “As a Doctor, Engineer and other jobs have different value” is not a complete, well-formed sentence. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and complete sentence construction before adding more complex clauses.
