Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people prefer work as the most significant thing in life and they posses little interest in anything else while other people have more curiosity about their leisure time activites or hobbies instead of profound interest in their jobs and work.
Intialy, from my perspective both have thier own attitude towards work, jobs and their affection in hobbies and leisure time activites. Those people who prefer work from over anything else their first priority is work always achieve their goals and reach to the destinations comfortabley. These people have audacity to take bold decisions and willing to take risks in their life to gain something extraordinary.
While, those people who devote most of their time in hobbies and leisure time activites these waste much of their crucial time and at the end they have nothing to do instead of rubbing hands. Surely, if you want to achieve something big in your life you must have to utilize your time wisely. If you consume your time properly in a productive manner at the end you will be in a good position but if you waste in something else then you will have lost precious time and remain nothig. I reckon balance in life is most vital to succed in life and fulfil your dreams.
In conclusion, both have their own consequences its all up to you either you allocate your time in productive things like chasing goals and work or dissipate your time in chasing wild things like hobbies and anything else. Overall, Everybody must have balance in life that is one of the demanding things.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both attitudes and give a view, especially when you state that “balance in life is most vital.” However, the discussion is uneven: the work-focused group is described as goal-oriented and willing to take risks, while people who prioritise hobbies are mainly criticised as wasting time. This does not fully explore why someone might value leisure, such as for wellbeing, relationships, or creativity, so the treatment of that attitude is limited. Your position also shifts: you support balance, but the conclusion frames hobbies as “wild things” and contrasts them with productive work. Develop both perspectives fairly and explain how your own view follows from them, using a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening, discussion paragraphs, and a conclusion, and the main ideas can generally be followed. Linking expressions such as “While,” “Surely,” and “In conclusion” signal movement between points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the second paragraph moves from work priorities to risk-taking without explaining the connection, and the next shifts from leisure to time management and then balance. Some transitions are mechanical or awkward, including “While,” at the start of a sentence and “Overall” after “In conclusion.” Organise each paragraph around one clear point, use transitions that show the precise relationship between ideas, and make references such as “both” and “these” explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of vocabulary related to ambition and time, including “first priority,” “bold decisions,” “productive manner,” and “precious time.” These choices show an effort to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. However, spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural combinations are noticeable, for example “posses,” “activites,” “comfortabley,” and “rubbing hands.” Phrases such as “reach to the destinations” and “remain nothig” are also unclear or unsuitable in context, while “wild things” gives an overly dismissive impression of hobbies. Choose familiar words that fit the meaning precisely, check spelling carefully, and learn common collocations. More precise language for the benefits and drawbacks of work and leisure would make your argument clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including the contrast beginning “while other people…” and the conditional pattern “if you want to achieve something…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “Those people who prefer work from over anything else their first priority is work always achieve…” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “if you waste in something else then you will have lost precious time” has an incomplete construction. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and punctuation, as in “balance in life is most vital” and the comma after “While.” Practise building complete clauses and checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
