Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, many proffesionals, like doctors and engineers, should work in their own country where they learn about different skills while some argue that they should have no restriction to work in different countries. According to my view, the different professionals should do work in their own country and make their own country better.

Firstly, most people in my country are professionals and do different jobs and learn different skills while they do training. They perform various tasks related to their country such as if someone became a doctor they should work for their country and it is the duty of the doctor to serve his own people first. Moreover their are many well hospitals in which many well educated doctors work. In addition, also their are many engineers construct different buildings and do work in differnt fields in their own country and make their country well developed.

Secondly, in this era their are well educated staff that do not get jobs easily in their own country. However they move to another country for better jobs opportunities and they should work freely and get a better sallery and better facilities. Furthermore, most of the people move to the developed countries because they earn more and make their lifestyle better. Moreover, when these people work abroad, they send money to their families which helps their country`s economy. They also learn new skills with more experience.

In conclusion, i strongly believe that proffesionals should work in their own country where they did their training and make their country better. This is fair for the government and also it is good for the poor people of the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both views: the first body paragraph argues that trained professionals should serve their home country, while the second explains why they may seek better jobs, salaries and experience abroad. Your final position is also clear: you believe they should work where they trained. However, the discussion is only partly developed. For example, the claim that doctors have a duty to serve their own people is asserted rather than supported with a specific reason or example, and the benefits of working abroad are listed without exploring how they balance against the home country’s needs. The opening also blurs the two positions. Develop each side with clearer reasoning and a relevant example, and make your position consistent from the introduction through the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Sequencers such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weak: several points are added in a list-like way, particularly the claims about hospitals, doctors, engineers and national development. Linking phrases such as “Moreover” and “In addition” are repeated, and some connections are unclear—for instance, the relationship between professionals’ training and the claim that most people in the country are professionals. Group related ideas and explain how each supports the paragraph’s main point. Clearer referencing and more varied, accurate transitions would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “professionals,” “training,” “facilities,” “economy” and “experience.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “work,” “country,” “better” and “make their country better.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “proffesionals,” “differnt,” “sallery,” and “well hospitals.” Some combinations are unnatural, including “do different jobs and learn different skills” and “better jobs opportunities,” which can make the meaning less precise. Build a wider set of accurate collocations for employment, public service and migration, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish the benefits and drawbacks of each position.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, using clauses introduced by “while,” “because” and “when.” This allows you to express contrast and reasons, but the range is limited and complex sentences are often not controlled accurately. For example, “if someone became a doctor they should work” shifts awkwardly between conditional and modal forms, while “there are many engineers construct different buildings” lacks a grammatical link between the clauses. Agreement and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “their are” and “training.They.” Capitalisation is inconsistent in “i,” and several sentences run together or contain unclear structures. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then check agreement, punctuation and capital letters.
