Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some people believe that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the country where they did their training. while others believe they should be free to work in another country if they wish. This essay will discuss both perspectives and explain my own opinion.

On the one hand, some people believe doctors and engineers, should be required to work in they country where they did their training. doctors and engineers are good resources for the country the should be work where they did their training. because they know about the place and what problem of this place, they should be work for the problem of this place. for example a doctor trained in Dhaka and he knows about the problems of patient in Dhaka, Furthermore, the doctor could help these people with extra care. engineers also need the benefits of well known places.

On the other hand, others people believe that they should be free to work in another country if they wish. they should be free to work in another country. for example they are the professionals who people need the most. without doctors peoples cannot survive healthy, also without engineers people cannot builds their homes offices. they should be free for help other countries people.

from my perspective, they should be to work for another country if they wish because they should provide their services of people who need them. If any country don't have better professionals like, doctors, engineers these country need them most.

In conclusion, doctors and engineers should be free for help people with their services. they should be don't have required to work in the country where they did their training.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments are repetitive and lack depth; for instance, the point about doctors in Dhaka is mentioned but not fully explored to explain why local training is superior. The response stays on topic, but the supporting points are somewhat simplistic and lack the nuance required for higher bands. To improve, you should aim to expand on your reasoning with more sophisticated examples and ensure that your arguments are distinct and well-supported.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'Furthermore' is used, but the connection between sentences is frequently weak due to grammatical errors. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between ideas feels disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'nevertheless', 'in contrast') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use the same phrases, such as 'doctors and engineers' and 'work in the country where they did their training'. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'good resources for the country' or 'peoples cannot survive healthy'. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'professional mobility', 'brain drain', or 'specialized expertise'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'they should be work'), article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'they should be don't have required'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many sentences starting with lowercase letters or lacking proper terminal punctuation. While there is an attempt at complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that auxiliary verbs and prepositions are used correctly before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
