Student answer (Band 6.0)

People have different opinions then others based on their views and information.

Some people believed that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should work in the country where they did their training because they think these professionals are much need for the country where they got training instead of working in other country. and there is an other aspect of this demand is they have experience of that location. A doctor have vast experience of seasonal decease then at the newer place where he work and the engineer have enough information about the local technological needs then being at the newer place and also there is loyalty aspect is involved with this opinion that they country had much priority to be served then the other one.

Second opinion by other people is totally opposite by the first one that they should be free to work in another country if they wish, and I also support this opinion. This group of people think that its a decision that must took by the professionals not by anyone and they should have freedom of working in any country as they wish. it will enhance their professional skills and expertise, because they will work without any external pressure and unlikely work place issue. If a person is forced to work at certain place where he is not willing to work it will ultimately affect him in term of depression, anxiety and working behavior and he will not put his hundred percent toward his job.

One of my friend he an IT professional he always wanted to work in gulf countries but after completing his graduation he was unable to go to the desire location for work and he started working in the country where he was graduated. His work productivity was very low and was not enjoying working here an in the result he was fired from his work due to lack of interest but after that he moved to an Arabian country where he is doing very well and enjoying his job and his productivity and skills are more enhanced and i have more oftenly seeing his achievements shared on social media and last week he was the employ of the month.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the focus on local expertise versus individual freedom and professional satisfaction. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The first paragraph relies on general assertions, while the second paragraph uses a personal anecdote to support the argument. While the prompt asks for relevant examples, the anecdote is quite informal and lacks the broader analytical depth expected for an Academic Task 2 essay. The position is clear throughout, but the overall development could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. Phrases like 'Second opinion by other people' and 'in the result' are used to link ideas, but they do not always flow naturally. There are also issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as the run-on sentences in the first paragraph. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the lack of varied and precise linking words makes the writing feel somewhat disjointed at times. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs needs more refinement.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate to convey the message but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'seasonal decease' (likely meaning 'diseases'), 'the newer place', and 'unlikely work place issue'. The student relies on basic vocabulary and struggles with collocations. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the presence of errors in word formation and usage limit the score. To improve, the student should focus on learning topic-specific collocations and more academic synonyms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('A doctor have', 'he an IT professional'), article usage, and sentence construction. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, which occasionally forces the reader to re-read to grasp the intended meaning. While the student attempts complex sentences, they are often grammatically flawed. The frequency of these errors is high enough to impede the flow of the text, preventing it from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence structure and proofreading for subject-verb agreement is essential.
