Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some people argue that professionals such as doctors and engineers should work in the country where they received their education.Others believe they should be free to work if they wish.I discuss both views in detail and also give my opinion.

To start, Requiring professionals to remain in their home can provide significant benefits. Many countries invest large amount of money in training doctors ,engineers and other specialists. If these individuals leave after completing their education their country may suffer from a shortage of skilled workers. For the development of any country skilled workers play very important role.If they work in their country the people of their country can,t move to another country for their work and they also become demanded in their country. So for the welfare of country professionals should also work their from they get education. There are a lots of benefit which they provide than to their country.

On the other hand, Allowing professionals to work abroad also bring advantages. That if they work in abroad they gain international experience. And people should have the opportunity to improve their careers and earn better salaries. And they also gain many of ideas after work at international level which benefited in their on country. So people should work in abroad means they gain experience at international level which benefit in their own country. Many of people came there from different countires after meeting they have different ideas.

In conclusion, I think peoples should work at their they wish because it

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear intention to state an opinion. However, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly in the final paragraph. Furthermore, the word count is below the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the arguments regarding economic investment and international experience are relevant, they are not fully extended or supported with specific examples. The conclusion is missing, meaning the position is not fully articulated or summarised. To improve, you must ensure you complete the essay and provide more depth to your supporting points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes repetitive (e.g., 'And', 'So'). There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas smoothly between sentences. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the abrupt ending disrupts the overall flow of the text. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of transition signals such as 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'conversely' to create a more natural progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'benefit', and 'work'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'they also become demanded in their country' and 'many of ideas'. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations and academic vocabulary. For example, instead of 'work in abroad', use 'pursue professional opportunities overseas'. Expanding your range will help you express your ideas with more nuance and sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'in their home'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'many of people came there'), and punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after periods. These errors are noticeable and occasionally make the text difficult to read. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that your sentences are punctuated correctly. Proofreading for basic errors will significantly improve your score.
