Student answer (Band 6.5)

Doctors and engineers play a vital role in building a good community. It is often argued by few individuals doctors and engineers did their practice in same country where they did there study. while, other claim that they should allow to work all over world where they wish. Although both view have valid argument but I firmly believe that every professional is independent in their selecting place for work because satisfaction is first priority to do any work.

On the one hand, doctors and engineers work on same place where they study this practice give benefits to locals because when they are higher from another country then expenditures are increase because in other country they spent large amount on living which effect on local people because they charge high for their work. For example, the cancer patients loss their life because doctors are not properly available in Pakistan everyone not afford the doctor from another country because they charge handsome amount for treatment.

On the other hand, some believe they should free to work in another country because every professional have dreams for better futures which they do not fulfill in same country so they move to other countries for better life. For example, In Pakistan doctor do not get job which fulfill their requirements because the government vacancies are very short so many doctor move another country for better future.

To conclude, doctors and engineers move to other country because they spend large amount on study they do not get job which fulfill their requirement of study which force them to move other place where they get good salary for their work.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task, including both views and a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples, such as the situation in Pakistan, the arguments remain relatively superficial. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on the implications of these points—for instance, discussing the 'brain drain' phenomenon or the ethical responsibility of professionals toward their home countries. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly explored to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the complexities involved.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' to signal shifts in perspective. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between ideas is weak, such as the transition into the conclusion. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, which makes some sentences feel disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'professionals', 'expenditures', and 'vacancies'. However, there is a lack of variety, and some word choices are imprecise or awkward, such as 'higher from another country' instead of 'hired from abroad' or 'handsome amount' which is not the most natural collocation in this context. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and collocations that sound more natural in a formal essay setting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'other claim'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'they should allow to work'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like tense consistency would be highly beneficial.
