Student answer (Band 6.5)

Most of the individuals think that expertise like doctors and engineers should need to work in their home country from where they gain experience however other citizens believe that if they want to persue their career in different country then that should be fine.

In my opinion i don't think so that the professionals have to stay in their country and work in their field because they are free to go anywhere in this world where they can earn more. For example, medical field such as radiology, after persuing this field an individual can find out about its scope and scales in other countries and if they find out a good deal then it was a best option for him to go to that country instead of staying in their home country where that field's value is low.

If someone thinks that professionals need to work from where they gain experience then in my point of view that is completely wrong because everyone has a right to think about a better route for themselves. If such situations arise in their home country that there are doctors short in number that the professional in medical field have to think if he wants to help his country's citizens or not but solely depend on them and no one has the right to force them.

Everyone wants to specialist in their field in their own way and it's on them in what way they want to accomplish it. Every country has different rules and regulations about a specific field after finding out what is better for them they can make a decision.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the medical field as an example, the explanation remains quite general. To improve, you should provide more specific, well-supported arguments for both perspectives. For instance, you could discuss the 'brain drain' phenomenon for the first view and the concept of 'global mobility' or 'personal freedom' for the second. The conclusion is a bit abrupt and does not fully summarize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes repetitive. Phrases like 'if someone thinks that' and 'in my point of view' are used, but there is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas between sentences and paragraphs. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the transition between the discussion of the two views and your own opinion could be smoother. Improving your range of transition signals would help the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on basic phrasing, such as 'good deal' and 'best option', which are somewhat informal. There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'expertise' when you mean 'experts' or 'professionals', and 'persue' (spelled 'pursue'). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more academic collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to professional migration and economic development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder clarity. Examples include 'Most of the individuals think that expertise like doctors and engineers should need to work', which is awkward, and 'I don't think so that', which is grammatically incorrect. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction before attempting more complex structures.
