Student answer (Band 6.5)
Opinions are divided on whether some professional like doctors and engineers should work in the country from, they received their education and training, while some individuals think that they are free to work in another country they wish to. This essay will discuss both the perspective before presenting my own opinion.
On the one hand, there are some undeniable disadvantages to professionals who wish to work in other country than choosing to work where they did training. The main drawback is that they might struggle to adapt to unfamiliar rules, regulations, and instruments while performing their tasks. For instance, if a doctor performing surgery in a new country and is not acquainted with the instruments, it could result in the death of the patient.
On the other hand, there are significant benefits to requiring skilled professionals to work in the country where they trained. This is primarily because they are already familiar with the local equipment, policies, and procedures. Another reason is that professionals gain a lot of knowledge and experience during training, which makes them experts in their fields. A prime example of this an engineer will work more confidently in the place where they received their training.
In conclusion, despite the minor disadvantages such as struggle in work, lack of confidence while doing any task, the advantages including expertise in handling equipment, confidence in performance, awareness about policies make it highly positive developments overall. Therefore, I firmly believe that they should stay in their training country because during their education, professionals become more familiar with local instruments, methods, and policies.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the 'disadvantages' of working abroad is quite brief and relies on a single, somewhat extreme example of a doctor failing to use instruments. The conclusion attempts to summarize the points but introduces a slightly confusing perspective by labeling the requirement to stay as a 'highly positive development' without fully explaining the broader societal or economic implications. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' behind your arguments, perhaps discussing the economic loss to the home country or the personal growth gained by professionals working abroad.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' effectively to signal shifts in the argument. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition in the second paragraph is a bit abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as in the phrase 'despite the minor disadvantages such as struggle in work', where the connection to the previous paragraphs could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'regulations', 'instruments', and 'expertise'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'some professional like doctors' (should be plural 'professionals') and 'work in other country than choosing to work'. The range is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on simple descriptors. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and academic vocabulary, such as 'professional development', 'global mobility', or 'specialized training', to demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. For example, 'some professional like doctors' lacks pluralization, and 'the country from, they received' contains an unnecessary comma and awkward syntax. There are also issues with article usage ('in other country' instead of 'in another country') and verb agreement. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will significantly improve your accuracy.
