Student answer (Band 6.5)
Often people reason to beleive that professionals with higher degrees, such as doctor and engineers should be required to work in the country where they have dine their training. But many believe that they should be free to work in any country they wish.
The reason that many beleive that white collar professionals should work for the greater good of the respective country which teached them is because it happends the same with previous professional. When students go in to the apply for jobs the reason they leave for other countries is because either the pay is higher or they have a passion for that country. If a professionals pay is good and has perks of his job there is no reason for him to leave the country. For example many pakistani medical students cant even put their degree to good use because they are not many job openings and even if there are the pay is dirt cheap. So they resort to leave for other countries with better pay and job vacancies.
The part of people who believe that they should be free to work are either people who want freedom or people who want to leave the country for better jobs. A person should have absolute freedom to work where ever he wants. If we do not have any freedom in our life choices then we are basically in an open air prison. Many countries force their employees to work in their own country which is a problem because if a foreign exchange student is studying a profession because education is cheaper in their country and after completing his degree he wants to return home he would have to be forced to work there.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding 'freedom' is mentioned but not fully explored in the context of the professional obligation to the state. The explanation of why professionals leave is clear, but the discussion lacks depth and specific examples beyond a brief mention of Pakistani medical students. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the implications of these policies for both the individual and the state, ensuring a more balanced and thorough exploration of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'The reason that' and 'The part of people who' are used to transition between ideas, but they lack variety. Additionally, some sentences are loosely connected, making the progression of ideas feel slightly disjointed. Improving the use of linking words such as 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' or 'conversely' would help create a smoother flow between your arguments and improve the overall logical progression of the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'teached them' (should be 'trained them') and 'dirt cheap' (which is too informal for an academic essay). You rely on basic vocabulary to express your ideas. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the topic, such as 'brain drain,' 'professional obligations,' or 'economic incentives,' rather than relying on common, everyday language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'professionals... should be required' vs 'a professionals pay'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'have dine their training'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralisation and verb tense consistency, and try to incorporate more complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
