Student answer (Band 6.0)

Professional like doctors and engineers should practice their profession in thin own home land is a belief of few people while others feel some peoples opinion is that they should work extend their boundaries if they desire to do so.

I strongly feel that it would be great if professional people practice their skills in the place where they learned their trade. It not only gives them the confidence but also to put in practice what they have learnt. Working in their home country has a some advantages. Firstly, they are aware of their surroundings, demands and the changes in technology. These advancement are further developed through regular seminars and training workshop. this allow professional to be well updated with knowing the recent development in change and the same can be implemented in ones profession. for instance. A dentist can sharpen his or her skills by training under a dentist or attending a workshop that has a new equipment for root canal where the time spent on one root canal can be just 15-20 minutes.

However, some believe working abroad has a wider propects with more avenues. When working in a foreign land new techniques and modernisation can be acquired for self development and the same can be used to further for future propects in ones profession at the same time with good earnings.

In my opinion a balance between the two will not only help an individual professional in his personal growth but also benfit the country where professional lack the most. This will help both the countys development by getting skilled professional and improves countries overall economie status.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument for working in the home country focuses heavily on technical training rather than the broader societal or economic benefits. The counter-argument regarding working abroad is also quite brief, lacking specific examples or deeper analysis. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning and clearer links to the prompt's context, such as the impact on national healthcare systems or global knowledge exchange.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'However', and 'In my opinion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as the phrase 'the same can be implemented' which lacks a precise antecedent. Additionally, the punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments like 'for instance. A dentist...', which disrupts the flow of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'modernisation', 'prospects', and 'economie status'. However, there are several spelling errors ('economie', 'countys', 'propects', 'benfit') and some awkward collocations, such as 'extend their boundaries' or 'professional people'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on accurate spelling and more natural word combinations will significantly improve your score in this area.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('professional like doctors... should practice'), missing articles, and incorrect pluralisation. Furthermore, there are several sentence fragments and run-on sentences, such as the opening sentence which is quite convoluted. While you attempt complex structures, the control over them is inconsistent. Improving your grasp of basic sentence construction and proofreading for minor errors would help elevate your grammatical accuracy.
