Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the economic benefits of keeping professionals in their home country is quite general and lacks specific, well-developed examples. The discussion on why professionals migrate is also repetitive, focusing primarily on income. To achieve a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and concrete examples to support your points, rather than relying on broad statements about 'developing countries'. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more sophisticated. For example, the final sentence of the conclusion is slightly disjointed and lacks a smooth transition from the previous points. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on common phrases like 'as they wish' and 'help to support', which are repetitive. There are also some minor collocation issues, such as 'satisfied from the country', which should be 'satisfied with the country'. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to economics, professional development, and migration, and focus on using more precise word choices to convey your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. For example, 'the the overall conditions' contains a repetition error, and 'it solely depends on person to person' is awkward phrasing. Additionally, there are issues with preposition usage and sentence construction, such as 'the country an individual trained from'. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and refining complex sentence structures will help improve your accuracy.
