Student answer (Band 5.5)

People believe that professionals such as doctors and engineers have ben required to work in the country where they did their training .While other believe that they should be free to work in another country if they wish to.

On the other hand there are several reasons why professionals should work in the country where they are trained.First the, country has usually spent a lot of money on their education and training.therefore it seems fair that these professionals should contribute to their own country after compleleting their studies.for example doctors who help provide better healthcare to local people.devloping skilled workers if too many professionals move abroad.

secondly, people should have the right to choose where they want to work.working in another country they want to get good opportunities, high salary.these experinces can also benefit their home country if they later return and use their knowledge there.

in my opinion professionals should be free to work in another country because everyone should have to improve their career and quality of life. However, governments can encourage skilled workers to say by providing better salaries and working conditions.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 180 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments remain superficial and lack sufficient supporting examples. While the essay addresses both sides of the prompt and provides a clear personal opinion, the brevity prevents a fully developed discussion. The conclusion is also quite abrupt. To improve, you must expand on your points with more detailed explanations and concrete examples to ensure the response is sufficiently comprehensive.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. For instance, the transition between the two viewpoints is abrupt, and the use of linking words like 'First' and 'secondly' is basic. There are also issues with punctuation and capitalization, such as missing spaces after periods and lowercase letters at the start of sentences (e.g., 'therefore', 'for example', 'devloping', 'secondly', 'in my opinion'). Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring standard punctuation would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on simple, repetitive language, such as 'good opportunities' and 'better healthcare'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'ben' (been), 'compleleting' (completing), and 'devloping' (developing). To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations related to the topic of professional migration and economic development, while ensuring accurate spelling throughout your work.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement, incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'have ben required'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also a major concern, with many sentences lacking proper capitalization and spacing after punctuation marks. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of basic grammatical and mechanical errors limits the score. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors will help improve your accuracy.
