Student answer (Band 6.5)
Some people believe that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should work in the country where they completed their education and training. However, others think that they should be allowed to work in another country if they want. This essay will discuss both views, and I believe that professionals should have the freedom to choose where they work.
On the one hand, professionals should have the freedom to work in another country, one of the reasons are getting better salaries and work condition. they can also gain more experience and improve their skills, for instance, an engineer can get better job opportunity in developed country by working in big projects rather than in developing nation. people spend many years spending time in education and to become professional in their field, so they should have the choice weather to work in county or abroad.
on the other hand, there are some reasons why professionals should work in their own country. First, the government often spends a large amount of money on education and training. Therefore, doctors and engineers should give something back to their country by working there for some years. For example, many countries spend money on training doctors, but after completing their studies, some doctors move to other countries for better jobs. This can create a shortage of doctors in their home country. As a result, people may have difficulty getting good medical treatment.
In conclusion, although countries need skilled professionals to support their development, I believe that doctors, engineers and other professionals should be free to work in another country. Governments should improve salaries and working conditions to encourage them to stay rather than forcing them to remain in their home country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both viewpoints and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and logically extended, such as the discussion on government investment in education versus the individual's right to professional mobility. However, the development of the 'freedom' argument is slightly less detailed than the 'home country' argument. The position is consistent throughout the essay. To reach a higher band, ensure that the arguments for both sides are balanced in depth and that the conclusion synthesizes the points rather than just restating the opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the two opposing views. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'on the other hand', 'Therefore', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, there are some minor issues with mechanical flow and referencing; for example, the transition between sentences in the second paragraph is slightly repetitive. The use of cohesive devices is generally functional but could be more varied to improve the overall flow and sophistication of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'developed country', 'developing nation', and 'professional mobility' (implied). However, there is a reliance on simpler vocabulary, and some word choices are slightly imprecise, such as 'spending time in education' instead of 'investing years in academic training'. There are also minor errors in collocation, such as 'weather' instead of 'whether'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition of basic terms like 'work' and 'money'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement ('one of the reasons are') and missing articles ('in developed country'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, though there are some issues with capitalization at the start of sentences. The control of complex structures is evident, but the frequency of minor errors prevents a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic agreement and article usage would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
