Student answer (Band 5.5)

THERE IS A HUGE DEBATE ON EVERY PROFESSIONALS, LIKE DOCTORS AND ENGINEERS HAVE TO WORK IN A SAME COUNTRY WHERE THEY COMPLETED THEIR TRAINING. MANY PEOPLE ARE AGAINST FROM THIS OPINION BECAUSE THEY THINK THAT EVERY PERSON HAS RIGHT TO CHOOSE THEIR PATH WITH MORE BENEFITES. THIS ESSAY WILL ILLUSTRATES BOTH THE VIEWS AND MY OPINION.

ON THE ONE HAND, IN MANY COUNTRIES GOVERNMENT PROVIDE FUNDS TO HELP DOCTORS AND ENGINEERS TO GET GRADUATE IN THE BEST WAY SO GOVERNMENT GIVE THEM SCOLLERSHIP IN GREAT COLLEGES FOR GOOD COATCHING. AFTER COMPLETING THEIR DEGREE SOME DECIDE TO GO ABROAD FOR BETTER JOB APPORTUNITIES AND CAREER OPTIONS. THIS IS GOOD FOR THE PERSON BUT WHAT ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT BECAUSE THEY INVEST THE FUND ON STUDENTS TO GET MORE PROFESSIONAL DOCTORS AND ENGINEERS FOR THE COUNTRY BUT SOME PEOPLE REALLY SUPPORT THE GOVERNMENT BY CHOOSING THEIR OWN COUNTRY RATHER THEN THE OTHER FOREGIN COUNTRIES. THEY GIVE BENEFITS OF THEIR EDUCATION TO THEIR PEOPLE.

ON THE OTHER HAND, SOME PEOPLE WANT TO MOVE ABROAD COUNTRIES FOR HIGHER SALARY AND THEY BELIEVE THAT THEY HAVE TO FOLLOW THE BEST OPPORTUNITY FOR THEIR PERSONAL PROFIT AND THEY ALSO SAYS THAT WHY SHOULD THEY SACRIFISE THEIR DREAM JOB FOR THE GOVERNMENT AND OTHERS. FOREIGN COUNTRIES ATTRACTES THEM FOR GETTING MORE PROFESSIONAL DOCTORS AND ENGINEERS AND SOME LEAVE THEIR COUNTRY AND GOVERNMENT GET DISAPPOINMENT BY THIS.

IN CONCLUSION, ACCORDING TO ME PEOPLE SHOULD SUPPORT THEIR OWN COUNTRY BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT INVEST SO MANY FUNDS ON STUDENTS TO GET PROFESSIONALS FOR DESERVING POPULATION OF NATION.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding government funding is repetitive and lacks specific examples or deeper analysis of the economic or ethical implications. The essay stays on topic, but the points made are quite general and lack the depth required for a higher band score. The position is consistent, but the supporting arguments could be more robustly extended to fully satisfy the requirements of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', 'In conclusion'). There are also issues with referencing and flow; for example, the transition between the government's investment and the students' decision to leave is abrupt. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the internal cohesion within paragraphs lacks the sophistication needed for a higher band, as sentences often feel like a list of points rather than a cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and spelling errors, such as 'SCOLLERSHIP' (scholarship), 'COATCHING' (coaching), 'APPORTUNITIES' (opportunities), and 'FOREGIN' (foreign). The student relies on basic vocabulary and struggles with collocations, such as 'get graduate' instead of 'graduate' or 'complete their studies'. While the meaning is generally clear, the limited range and frequent errors in spelling and word formation prevent a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'government provide', 'foreign countries attractes'), incorrect preposition usage ('against from this opinion'), and awkward phrasing ('the government get disappoinment'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization, as the entire essay is written in uppercase. These errors are frequent and occasionally impede the flow of reading, although the overall message remains understandable.
