Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today's globalized world the mobility of accomplished professionals has become a widely debated issue. some people argue that individuals such as doctors and engineers should be obligated to work in the country where they received their training, while opposites believe that they should have the freedom to choose in which country they want to work. This essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting my own view.
According to the first viewpoint, it should be said that studies for such complicated specialities are usually provided by the government for free, as protection from the issue that well known as brain drain. Therefore, requiring professionals to remain in their home country can bring significant benefits. For instance, in many developing countries, there is an often shortage of qualified medical staff. If trained doctors move abroad, it can lead to negative consequences for the level of national healthcare. Enforcing such a policy could help maintain crucial services and ensure a return on educational investments.
On the other hand, restricting specialists' freedom to choose their life paths can be unfair and useless. Individuals should have the right to define their future, seek better opportunities, and higher salaries. Simultaneously, many experts want to gain work experience in different circumstances in other countries, which would be different from those they are used to during their training. Finally, international experience can benefit if they later decide to return. These are the reasons why, from my perspective, professionals should be free about their work and living area.
Although both perspectives have their valid arguments and concerns, I believe that respecting personal freedom is essential and governments should address national needs through more effective and balanced approaches, such as creating more attractive working conditions and incentives to retain talent voluntarily. encouraging is a more sustainable solution.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both viewpoints and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and logically extended, particularly the discussion on 'brain drain' and the counter-argument regarding individual freedom. The position is consistent throughout the essay. To reach a higher band, the student could provide more specific, concrete examples beyond general statements, such as mentioning a specific country or a particular type of medical program, to further substantiate the arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'According to the first viewpoint', 'On the other hand', and 'Although' are used effectively to guide the reader. Paragraphing is appropriate, with each paragraph focusing on a central theme. The progression of ideas is smooth, though some transitions could be more sophisticated to avoid a slightly mechanical feel in the flow between sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some precision, using terms like 'globalized', 'obligated', 'brain drain', and 'incentives'. There are some minor inaccuracies in collocation, such as 'opposites believe' (should be 'others believe') and 'free about their work' (should be 'free to choose their work'). However, the vocabulary is generally appropriate for the task and does not impede communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While there is good control over complex sentences, there are occasional grammatical errors, such as 'the issue that well known as brain drain' (missing 'is') and 'encouraging is a more sustainable solution' (capitalization and sentence structure). Punctuation is generally correct, though some sentence boundaries could be improved. The errors present do not significantly impede communication, and the overall control is solid.
