Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0

The response is completely off-topic. The prompt asks for a discussion regarding whether professionals like doctors and engineers should be required to work in their home countries after training. However, the essay discusses the general impact of automation and technology on the workforce. Because the student failed to address the specific task prompt, the response cannot be assessed for task achievement in relation to the actual question. The ideas presented are irrelevant to the topic of professional migration and training obligations. Consequently, the response fails to address the requirements of the task entirely.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'In terms of', 'For example', and 'To conclude'. However, the logical progression is hindered by the fact that the content does not relate to the prompt. The use of linking words is sometimes mechanical or misused, such as starting a sentence with 'Although' followed by 'However' in the introduction, which creates a fragmented flow. While the paragraphing structure is visible, the internal coherence is weak because the arguments do not build a logical case for the specific topic provided.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. The student relies on basic terms like 'merits', 'drawbacks', 'advantages', and 'disadvantages'. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'lease their employment rate' (likely meaning 'decrease') and 'ensure their work without any hesitations'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of precision and the reliance on a narrow set of words prevent the essay from reaching a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('it can also helps'), sentence fragments ('In the past, several jobs done by human labour'), and incorrect verb tenses or structures ('This essay will be discuss'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or poorly constructed complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several sentences starting with conjunctions or adverbs that do not connect properly to the preceding thought. These errors are persistent throughout the text.
