Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's rapidly evolving world, some individuals assert that experts, such as professional doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the nation where they completed their training whereas, others believe that they should have freedom to work in any country wherever they want. This essay will discuss both views before justifying my own opinion.
According to the former viewpoint, professionals should definitely work in the same country where they have completed their training because this will increase the employment rate of their country as larger number of jobs will be provided to doctors and engineers, which will ultimately increase the overall economy growth which will be better for upcoming future. Moreover, this act will help large number of people who are living in rural areas because hospitals will be constructed in villages and better infrastructure, facilities will be provided for their treatment. Even though last survey concluded that due to shortage of doctors about 40% people died in rural areas.
However, others including me believe that they should be free to work in another country because sometime most of the countries do not provide proper wages to professionals due to which they suffer a lot, leaving country for better future is important decision for many of them. For instance, in Canada and Australia these professions are highly in demand and have better pays and infrastructure due to which many Indians move there for better lifestyle. Furthermore, its ones own decision where he or she want to continue their profession. So everybody should have this basic right.
In conclusion, I assert that they should be free and they should do whatever they want for securing their future life in better way. Both the viewpoint have there own benefits so as per me one can follow any path.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The first body paragraph makes a strong point about the economy and rural healthcare, but the supporting evidence regarding the '40% death rate' is vague and lacks context. The second body paragraph is more persuasive, using specific examples like Canada and Australia. To reach a higher band, ensure that all arguments are fully extended with more nuanced reasoning rather than relying on general statements. The conclusion effectively summarises the position, though it could be more sophisticated in its final synthesis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organised into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices such as 'According to the former viewpoint', 'Moreover', 'However', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader through the argument. While the progression is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Additionally, there are minor issues with referencing, such as the phrase 'this act' in the second paragraph, which is slightly ambiguous. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the flow of ideas is easy to follow throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'infrastructure', 'employment rate', and 'evolving world'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of repetitive phrasing, such as 'better future' and 'better lifestyle'. Some word choices are slightly imprecise, such as 'last survey concluded' (which survey?) and 'as per me'. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise collocations and a wider variety of academic synonyms to avoid repetition.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is consistently clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the nation', 'the overall economy growth'), subject-verb agreement ('Both the viewpoint have there own'), and punctuation. Some sentences are slightly run-on, such as the opening sentence, which could be punctuated more effectively. While the errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic errors and refining complex sentence construction would be beneficial.
