Student answer (Band 6.0)

A professional has always been regarded as one of the fundamental aspects of modern society contributing to the technological advancement and economic development for well-being. HOwever, different perspectives exist on this matter, I firmly believe that a balanced and sustainable approach is essential to maximize the benefits and minimize the negative consequences of this matter.

On the one hand, supporters of working the professionals such as doctors and engineers in their own country rather than abroad argue that our country needs qualified persons to compete with the modern challenges in every field of life. If professionals move to forign countries for better opportunities, our country will become deficient in qualified workers. As country spent a lot of budget on their training, it is ethhical to stay in home country and should work for the the public. Consequently, rights of the public will be fullfilled and positive community will be developed.

On the other hand, advocates of work freedom of professionals contend that every individual has right to grab the best opportunity wherever it is available. If government wants to keep their professionals in home country, authorities should create better jobs and environment for them to persue their career. For example, in the Indo-Pak region, there is a lack of professionals because the most left their countries in searching of better jobs and studies.

In conclusion, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Although both viewpoints posses considerable merits, I remain convinced that professionals could go to abroad for higher studies and trainings but they should serve in their home country for society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal position. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the 'Indo-Pak region' is a good attempt at an example, but it lacks specific detail to fully support the point. The conclusion is a bit contradictory, suggesting professionals should go abroad for training but then return, which is a nuanced point that could have been better integrated into the body paragraphs. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of analysis is more characteristic of a band 6.0 response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Consequently' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally slightly unclear, such as the phrase 'this matter' used twice in the introduction without a specific antecedent. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, though it lacks sophistication. There are several spelling errors, such as 'HOwever', 'forign', 'ethhical', 'fullfilled', 'persue', and 'posses'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the message. The student uses some relevant topic-specific vocabulary like 'technological advancement' and 'qualified workers', but the overall lexical control is inconsistent, preventing a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'supporters of working the professionals' (awkward phrasing), 'As country spent' (missing article), and 'the most left their countries' (incorrect pronoun usage). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the sentence structure occasionally feels repetitive. The errors are frequent, but they do not impede communication, which aligns with the band 6 descriptor.
