Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding the benefits of staying in one's home country is a list of points rather than a well-developed explanation. Similarly, the example provided about engineers in India and Dubai is relevant but lacks sufficient detail to fully support the argument. While the position is consistent, the essay would benefit from more depth and a more formal tone to fully meet the requirements of a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'In contrast, other clearly opine' and 'Alternative argue' show a lack of control over linking words. Additionally, there are issues with punctuation, such as missing spaces after commas and periods, which disrupts the flow of ideas. While there is an overall progression, the transitions between sentences and paragraphs are sometimes abrupt or confusing, limiting the effectiveness of the logical flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'performing in counterpart', 'good package', and 'spread your business new arms'. Spelling errors are also frequent, including 'fruitfull', 'oppercunities', 'exampilify', and 'Soudi Arab'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of common academic terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('DUBAI need them'), missing articles ('in purpose of', 'is a clearly sign'), and incorrect verb forms ('if doctor or engineers planning'). Punctuation is also a significant issue, with many sentences missing spaces after punctuation marks, which makes the text difficult to read. While the meaning is generally clear, the high density of errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band.
