Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the globalized world, working professionals are highly aware of the market trends. doctors, engineers and other job seekers know well the places from they paid quite decent. Many people claimed that skilled workers should be work in the country where they completed their training. However, others believe that they should be free to work in any country. In this essay, I will discuss both views and share my opinion.
To begin with, professionals such as doctors and engineers should work on their native place from where they pursue study and training. The government highly subsidies on medical, transport and education facilities. If many qualified professionals leave, the country can face a shortage of skilled workers. Their local knowledge benefits the society that supported their education. For example, a developing countries spend huge amount of money on training doctors and engineers but rural hospitals still lack medical staff because doctors move abroad. Therefore, government should require that there should be limited time period for them to work on the place where they get training.
On the other hand, others believed that they should be open to work in any country, considering their own choice. Many individuals choose abroad options as this pathway provides them high profile status, lucrative income and hands on experience to work in advanced technologies and practices. Restricting their movement can be unfair because individuals have personal and family reasons for moving. To exemplify this, a professional or skilled person who is moved to Canada or Germany may gain advanced expertise which they later can use in their home country. Therefore, It's an individuals choice to choose where they prefer to work for their job satisfaction or considering family circumstances.
To conclude, I believe that Professionals should generally be free to work abroad because career choice is a personal right. However, governments can reasonably expect graduates who received heavily subsidized education to contribute to their home country for a limited period.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of government subsidies and the potential for skill acquisition abroad. However, some arguments are slightly under-developed; for instance, the point about 'rural hospitals' could be expanded further to fully illustrate the impact of brain drain. The position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively synthesizes the two perspectives. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting example is fully explained to demonstrate its direct link to the main argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are occasional issues with referencing, such as 'the place where they get training' which could be more concisely phrased. The progression of ideas is generally smooth, though the connection between sentences within paragraphs could be tightened to improve the overall flow. Overall, the structure is clear and supports the development of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at less common items like 'lucrative income' and 'globalized world'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'paid quite decent' instead of 'well-paid' and 'abroad options' instead of 'opportunities abroad'. Some collocations are also slightly unnatural, such as 'work on their native place'. While the meaning is always clear, the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and the errors in word choice prevent the response from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('Many people claimed' should be 'claim', 'government should require' should be 'the government'), article usage, and prepositional phrases ('work on their native place' should be 'work in their home country'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic tense consistency and ensuring that plural/singular forms are used correctly in relation to their subjects.
