Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some individuals believe that experts, such as medical doctors and engineers should be required to work in the country where they did their learning. Meanwhile, others argue that they should be allowed to work in anywhere they prefer.
People believe that professionals, such as doctors and engineers should obtain a job in places where they trained. However, this is because most countries invest a lot of money in the education of this experts. Therefore, they believe that they owe the country a favor to work there and It can also be seen as an act of giving back to the society. Individuals also believe that it is positive act for people to work where they trained in order to practice what they have been taught and partake in advancing the nation. For example, a nurse that studied in a university in Nigeria, should get a job there when she graduates.
Others argue that professionals should be allowed to work anywhere they want because it is their choice. There are several reasons why people want to pursue a career in other places. One major reason is for a higher salary. Most professionals spend a lot of money in school for their training and they apply for a job in their home country but the salary is low, so they will rather go to another place where they will earn a valuable amount of money. Another reason is for a better experience in their field of work. Sometimes, the country where you trained does not offer you much experience after school, so they prefer to travel overseas to gain the experience they want.
In conclusion, although it is apathetic for experts to work in a country where they studied, I agree that people should be allowed to work anywhere where of their choice because it is beneficial to them and their career.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. The ideas are relevant, such as the concept of 'giving back' to the state and the pursuit of better salaries or experience. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the example of the nurse in Nigeria is brief and could be expanded to better illustrate the impact of the policy. The conclusion uses the word 'apathetic' incorrectly, which slightly confuses the reader regarding your final stance. To improve, ensure that each supporting point is fully explained with more depth and that your vocabulary choices accurately reflect your intended meaning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. There is a discernible progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Therefore', and 'In conclusion' are used to link sentences and paragraphs. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, and there are minor issues with referencing (e.g., 'this experts' should be 'these experts'). The flow is generally smooth, but the transition between the two main body paragraphs could be more sophisticated to better highlight the contrast between the two viewpoints.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing for the expression of ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'professionals', 'career', and 'overseas'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice, such as using 'apathetic' (meaning showing no interest or enthusiasm) when you likely meant 'understandable' or 'reasonable'. Additionally, there are minor errors in word form, such as 'this experts' instead of 'these experts'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring correct word forms and collocations throughout your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include 'work in anywhere' (should be 'work anywhere'), 'It can also be seen' (unnecessary capitalization), and 'a nurse that studied' (should be 'who'). Punctuation is mostly correct, but there are occasional slips. The range of structures is sufficient to communicate your points, but more consistent control over complex grammar would be required for a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and avoiding unnecessary articles.
