Student answer (Band 5.5)

Introduction:

Education is very important for every person. Nowadays, male and female both are getting education. Every person should have to select their field by their own self. Some parents force their children to do the profession which they won't to do.

Paragraph 1:

Some people believe that professionals, such as doctor and engineers should to work in the country where they did their training. For instance, a person get their education from King Edward medical University and do their training at Mayo hospital then also have to do job there because we should have to serve our services to our country. Some people have passion for their country that they want to surve at any condition.

Body paragraph 2:

Others believe that they should be free to work in another country if they wish because in other countries we get more pay than our country. For example, a person studied engineering from Government University and then go to abroad for their job to earn more money instead of leaving there and serve their services to their country. Some people just want to earn money for their families to giving them good lifestyle.

In my opinion:

I am of the opinion that going abroad for job is the best decision just because in our country we did not get much pay as we work but in other countries we get the pay more than we work. So, everyone wants to earn money for their better future. However, cost of living is increasing day by day so definitely expenses will also increase then we need more money to survive.

Conclusion:

As a result, every person have different nature so they have different choice that they would go abroad or living their for job purposes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the argument regarding 'earning more money' is repeated in both the second body paragraph and the opinion section without adding new depth or nuance. The introduction is largely irrelevant to the prompt, as it discusses parental pressure rather than the specific issue of professional migration. To reach a higher band, you should focus on expanding your arguments with more varied reasoning, such as the 'brain drain' effect on developing nations versus the individual's right to career mobility.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The introduction is disconnected from the main topic, and the transition between paragraphs is mechanical. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'For instance', 'As a result'), they are sometimes used incorrectly or in a way that does not improve the flow of ideas. The conclusion is very brief and does not effectively summarise the main points discussed. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is a reliance on basic, repetitive phrasing such as 'earn money' and 'serve their services'. Some word choices are awkward or incorrect, such as 'surve' (serve) and 'leaving there' (staying there). To improve, you should aim to use more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the topic, such as 'professional mobility', 'economic incentives', or 'human capital flight'. The spelling errors, though minor, also detract from the overall quality.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every person have', 'a person get'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'should to work'), and missing articles. The sentence structure is often repetitive, and the punctuation is inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs. Increasing the variety of complex sentences while ensuring they are grammatically accurate will help you achieve a higher score.
