Student answer (Band 5.5)

We live in the era, where services are not bounded within the countries. However, some people think that professional should required to work on the country, where they trained while other think that they are free to work where they want. I believe that, where to work should be decided by the individual professional, we do not have rights to force or bound them in any boundaries.

Some people believe that professional such as doctors and engineers should work or use their knowledge in the country from where they learn it. Morally it is right. Because if the professional provide their services to the same country, it get benefited from their intelligent minds and knowledge and also help a country to become stronger in the different service sectors of the country. Current issue of "Braindrain" can be resolved.

However, other believe that, professionals are free to work in any country, where they want to work. They have right to relocate to another country, to get wider experience. Many times they get more charges for the services they offered in other country, means they benefited to make stronger financial portfolio, if they work in different countries.

In my opinion, Both the aspects have their own importance. Working in the same country provide benefits to the society and, country as whole to become stronger in the services. While working in another country, can help to build the relations with other country, while providing expert mind or trading of services to them.

All in one, it can be ascertained that, professionals are free to serve the people of any country. All depend on their wish.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'brain drain' and 'financial portfolios,' these points are not fully explored or supported with concrete examples. The arguments remain at a general level, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a specific, illustrative example to support your claims, rather than just stating the benefits in broad terms. The conclusion is a bit brief and could more effectively synthesize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'However,' 'Because,' and 'In my opinion,' to link your thoughts. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly repetitive. For instance, the start of the paragraphs could be more varied to improve the flow. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'All in one,' which is not a standard idiomatic expression for a conclusion. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next will help elevate your score in this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'brain drain' and 'service sectors.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'get more charges' instead of 'earn higher salaries' or 'intelligent minds' instead of 'skilled professionals.' The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on simpler, repetitive phrasing. To achieve a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary that fits the context of professional migration.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('professional should required'), article usage ('in the country'), and punctuation errors, such as unnecessary commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly the use of modal verbs and articles. Reviewing your work for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are punctuated correctly will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
