Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited and often unclear. For instance, the argument regarding doctors working in rural areas is difficult to follow due to fragmented sentence structure and lack of logical progression. The position is stated but not consistently supported with clear, coherent reasoning. To improve, you should focus on expanding your points with specific examples and ensuring that your arguments are logically linked to the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and sometimes misused, such as the abrupt transitions between sentences. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. For example, the final paragraph lacks a clear link to the previous points, making the conclusion feel disconnected. Improving the use of linking words like 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'however' would significantly enhance the readability of your work.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'work with abroad countries' instead of 'work abroad' or 'working in foreign countries'. The phrasing 'quality time of intelligence' is unnatural and unclear. To reach a higher band, you need to move beyond simple vocabulary and attempt to use more precise, academic terminology related to the topic of professional migration and national development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. For example, 'Someone argue that they are contributing their training' should be 'Some argue that they should contribute their training'. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, making the text difficult to parse. You rely heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be a good starting point for improvement.
