Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's modern developing world, many people move abroad for better career opportunities and environment. Some people believe that professions like doctors and engineers should work in their home country where they got trained for the benefit of the society. But others think everyone should have a freedom and right to choose wherever they want to work. In this essay, i will elucidate both the views and give my opinion in the following paragraphs.
One of the major reason for professionals to move abroad is greater career development opportunities, higher income and professional development. People work hard enough, invests money and time to achieve their professional qualifications. Every individual does have a right to chose the best option for them and their family. The doctors and engineers can still benefit by learning new technologies and bring back that knowledge to improving the condition of their home country. For example, a scientist named John Thames went to Germany for higher education, he worked in a reknowned company for 5 years. He came back to his hometown and established the organisation which works for bringing new technologies around the world for the development of his country.
Secondly, large ratio of younger generations are moving abroad to stabalize and improve their families financial condition by earning better income comparatively. They get better work environment and other benefits than their homeland which is why they significantly prefer working abroad. In India, for instance according to the government survey, the average salary of a physician is 100 dollars a month whereas in Australia they can easily earn upto $800 which is the biggest reluctant reason for choosing another country.
On the other hand, if a country is investing and contributing in their citizens by providing government fundings and student loan so that they can achieve the best by gaining the proper knowledge, it becomes ethical responsibilty as a citizen to serve and payback their homeland. But if they leave the country, all the investment and expertise goes in vain and it affects harshly on the economy of the country. For instance, in Italy the young adults are moving to different places for bet

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both perspectives and providing a personal opinion. The ideas are generally relevant, though the development is somewhat uneven. For instance, the argument regarding the 'ethical responsibility' to serve one's home country is a strong point, but the essay ends abruptly mid-sentence, which prevents a full conclusion and leaves the final argument underdeveloped. While the position is clear, the lack of a complete conclusion impacts the overall task response. To improve, ensure that all paragraphs are fully developed and that the essay reaches a logical, complete conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'One of the major reason', 'Secondly', and 'On the other hand'. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical transitions. Referencing is generally clear, but the abrupt ending of the final paragraph disrupts the flow of the essay. The use of cohesive devices is sometimes repetitive or slightly forced. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph transitions smoothly into the next, maintaining a logical flow until the very end.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'elucidate' and 'professional qualifications'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'biggest reluctant reason' and 'reknowned company' (spelling error). Some phrasing is also slightly unnatural, such as 'large ratio of younger generations'. To improve, focus on learning collocations and refining word choices to sound more natural and precise in an academic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('One of the major reason', 'every individual does have a right to chose'), spelling errors ('stabalize', 'reknowned'), and punctuation mistakes. While these errors do not typically impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules, particularly verb forms and subject-verb agreement, and proofread for common spelling errors.
