Student answer (Band 5.5)

Certainly, some people wish that graduates like doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the country where they were trained. In addition others feel the graduates must be free to work abroad if they wish.

However, coming to the persons who believe in working in the country they were trained, their assumption is correct, which can promote the development of his or her own nation with new technologies and ideas. Such a kind of people and with such a thought help their area to develop and ensuring the graduate to facilitate freely in the society. This develops patriotism in the individuals. But this should not become greed and spoil the educated minds by confining his or her life to a particular area by having no development in his or her working career.

The perspective of people who believe that graduates should be free to work in foreign countries, should be encouraged, because if he or she gets employed in a multinational company would help the graduates to explore more places in the employment fields. This even makes the graduates to gain more skills with extra useful knowledge including international exposure.

The particular employee would even earn more compared with his or her peer graduates who are working in the country where they were trained.

I feel getting employed in a country which has more demand for the course in which they were being trained would be actually preferable. Because not every country can have suitable job roles for the courses a person got graduated from the trained country. For example, if we consider India, it has good equipment, knowledge and experience in making engineers and doctors but it is very hard to sustain in job industry. However, it is piece of cake to get employed as either a doctor or an engineer in Germany, because it has less competition with more vacancies in such fields.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding domestic service is a bit vague, using phrases like 'facilitate freely in the society' which lack clarity. The second body paragraph is more focused, but the explanation of why international experience is beneficial could be more deeply explored. The example provided regarding India and Germany is relevant and helps illustrate the point, though the reasoning could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of analysis is limited.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Coming to the persons who believe...' and 'Such a kind of people and with such a thought'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly with the use of 'this' and 'it' in the second paragraph, which makes the connection between sentences feel a bit disjointed. While the overall structure is logical, the flow between ideas could be smoother with more varied and precise linking words.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are some instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'piece of cake' (which is too informal for an academic essay) and 'explore more places in the employment fields'. The student uses some repetitive structures and basic word choices. To improve, the student should focus on using more academic collocations and avoiding informal idioms, while also working on more precise terminology related to professional migration and economic development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'Such a kind of people and with such a thought help their area' (subject-verb agreement/syntax) and 'not every country can have suitable job roles for the courses a person got graduated from' (awkward passive construction). While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. The student should focus on sentence variety and ensuring that complex structures are formed accurately.
