IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people believe that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the country where they did their training. Others believe they should be free to work in another country if they wish.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Working in your own country or another country depends on your work. if you think that working o the same place where you trained yourself for your future is helping you in your carrier then a person should follow up there.
At first you should think that is this helping in your advancement or not.is it creating more oppurtunities for you or not for instance a person working in hospital is stuck in a single place or he is gaining his experience through different stages because if you are hanged up in a same stage uh should move on
Moreover any professional has his free will to move anywhere to work rather it is his own nation or another to get better experience and ways to learn a lot from other perspectives. A doctor or a person from any field can master their skills way better where they are more confident and they can attain strong knowledge from their mentors
In conclusion, I strongly believe that any professional can work from anywhere in the word .There is no required thing like that they have to work only there where they get trained .Everyone should go for better oppurtunities and go out of the zone to boost them up and it is very crucial to learn at every stage of the life because every field get advanced every few years as this is technology era so there are many advanced technologies we need to learn to breath well and do well in your own field

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding professional advancement and personal freedom are mentioned but lack depth or specific, illustrative examples. The essay relies on general statements rather than exploring the implications of the issue, such as the 'brain drain' phenomenon or the ethical obligations of professionals to their home countries. Consequently, the response feels somewhat underdeveloped, which prevents it from reaching a higher band score. The position is consistent, but the supporting points need more elaboration to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often disrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of clear cohesive devices. While some transition words like 'Moreover' and 'In conclusion' are used, the connections between sentences are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally confusing, such as the phrase 'follow up there' in the first paragraph, which lacks a clear antecedent. The overall structure is present, but the progression of ideas is not always smooth or easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic or informal language. There are several instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'hanged up' instead of 'stuck' or 'held back', and 'breath well' which is an incorrect collocation. Spelling errors, such as 'oppurtunities' and 'carrier' (instead of 'career'), are frequent and noticeable. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility or precision required for higher bands. The student struggles to use academic terminology effectively to discuss professional mobility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every field get advanced'), incorrect use of articles, and punctuation errors. Many sentences are poorly constructed, such as 'if you are hanged up in a same stage uh should move on', which contains informal language ('uh') and awkward phrasing. The control over complex structures is weak, and the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the writing from achieving a higher score.
