Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely limits the development of ideas. While you mention both sides of the argument, the discussion is superficial and lacks the necessary depth, examples, or logical extension required for an academic essay. You state your opinion in the introduction but fail to provide a coherent, well-supported argument throughout the body paragraphs. Because the response is less than half the required length, it is impossible to fully address all parts of the task. To improve, you must expand your points with specific examples and ensure you meet the word count to allow for a comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While you use basic transition words like 'Firstly' and 'On one hand', the overall structure is fragmented. Paragraphing is present but the content within the paragraphs is repetitive and lacks depth. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas smoothly, making the text feel disjointed. The referencing is often unclear, particularly when you refer to 'the professional peoples'. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting evidence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. You frequently use the phrase 'professional peoples', which is grammatically incorrect and unnatural; 'professionals' is the correct term. There is little attempt to use academic or topic-specific vocabulary. Phrases like 'good impact on country' are simplistic and lack the precision expected at this level. To improve, you should aim to use more varied synonyms and academic collocations. Avoid repeating the same words in close proximity and try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to economics, migration, and professional development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the people opinion are different') and article usage. The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with very few attempts at complex sentences. When you do attempt more complex structures, they are often faulty or awkward. Punctuation is basic, and there are errors in word order. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and gradually introducing complex structures like relative clauses or conditional sentences to add variety to your writing.
