Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that professionals, like doctors and engineers should staty in their home country after their training. While others believe that authorities should be given the freedom to choose their destiations. This essay will discuss both and also give my own opinion.
on the one hand, there are some reasons why people believe that graduates should stay at their home country. First, government invest huge sums of money for train them properly. Therefore, they must be treated fairly at their country and help other individuals to learn skills. Moreover, some countries are poor and undeveloped . If in these countries graduates leave their home, as a result, the country will never progress up and become develop. For example, if higher skilled engineers work at local companies then the company does not need to hire foreign expert for their work and it also saves money.
On the other hand , others believe that they should be free to work anywhere and I also agree with that they should be free to move another country if they want. Because, everyone wants to lead better life and expect to earn higher salaries that's why expert moved to developed country .Moreover, some individuals go to developed country to acquire higher skills and also for their children's better education. As a result, when the experts return from abroad after 5,10 years with better experience and higher skills than they can contribute to their country's development using their skills.
In conclusion, although making professionals work in their training country has some benefits for the local community, I still think that freedom of choice is more important. Governments should give them better salaries so that they will want to stay willingly.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the economic burden of training and the individual's right to seek better opportunities. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'foreign experts' is a bit simplistic and could be expanded with more nuanced reasoning. The position is consistent throughout, but the depth of analysis is more characteristic of a Band 6.0, as it touches upon the main points without fully exploring the implications of the debate.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion', which help the reader follow the argument. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'As a result, when the experts return... than they can contribute'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the overall management of cohesion lacks the flexibility required for a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of repetitive phrasing, such as 'better life', 'better education', and 'better experience'. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'authorities should be given the freedom' (referring to professionals) and 'never progress up'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic collocations. Spelling errors like 'staty' and 'destiations' also occur, though they do not impede communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('government invest'), missing articles ('at their country'), and incorrect preposition usage ('move another country'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces missing after commas in several places. While the writer attempts complex sentences, these are often marred by errors that, while not preventing understanding, occur frequently enough to be noticeable. A greater focus on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would improve the score.
