Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you address both sides of the argument and provide a personal opinion, the ideas are underdeveloped and lack specific, illustrative examples. The arguments regarding 'brain migration' and 'volunteering' are mentioned but not sufficiently expanded to demonstrate a clear line of reasoning. To improve, you must elaborate on your points with detailed explanations and concrete examples to reach the required length and provide a more comprehensive discussion of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate (e.g., 'On the another hand', 'in addition the developed technology'). The progression of ideas is sometimes difficult to follow due to these linking errors and awkward phrasing. While there is an attempt to use transition words, they are not always used appropriately to connect ideas logically. Improving the variety and accuracy of your cohesive devices will help the reader follow your argument more smoothly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and often imprecise. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'indiveduals', 'explane', 'experianced', 'candidiat') and word choice issues (e.g., 'arteteachture' for architecture, 'retain' for return). These errors occasionally impede communication and make the text difficult to read. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring correct spelling. Avoid using informal or non-standard phrasing and try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations related to the topic of professional migration and training.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the both ideas is'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation, which makes the writing feel disjointed. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, they are often faulty and contain errors that cause difficulty for the reader. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect pluralisation.
