Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The essay addresses both views and provides an opinion, though the development is quite limited. The arguments are presented in a list-like format rather than being fully explored. For example, the point about 'better career opportunities' is mentioned but lacks depth or a clear link to the prompt's context of training obligations. The opinion is stated in the introduction and conclusion but is not integrated into the body paragraphs, making the overall position feel somewhat disconnected. To improve, you should expand on your reasons with more detailed explanations and specific, relevant examples that go beyond simple statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay uses basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'However', which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is mechanical and repetitive. The paragraphing is present, but the internal flow within paragraphs is hindered by fragmented sentences and awkward phrasing, such as 'To explain it that other countries provide a better facilities'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You frequently use simple phrases like 'better facilities', 'increase experience', and 'point for'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'forthcoming fragment' (which is unnatural in this context) and 'storage of professional' (likely meant 'shortage'). While the meaning is generally clear, the range is not sufficient to demonstrate flexibility or precision. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to migration, professional development, and economic impact, and work on using words in their correct collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('work in own country'), incorrect verb forms ('Canada provide'), and punctuation issues. Many sentences are incomplete or lack proper subject-verb agreement. While these errors do not completely prevent communication, they are frequent and noticeable throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and using articles correctly. Once you have a solid foundation, begin practicing more complex sentence structures like relative clauses or conditional sentences to improve your range.
