Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some individuals argue that professionals, like doctors and engineers, should be mandated to practice in their home country where they received their education while others are of the opinion that they should be allowed to work in a different county if that is what they desire. However, I think that they should be given free rein to practice in any country that they deem it fit to.
On the one hand, professionals working in their trained country will likely reduce the brain drain being experienced in that sector. This is because it will restrict the number of people travelling to another country thereby reducing the shortage of any profession in the country. For instance, Nursing and midwifery council of nigeria placed a ban of two years post study experience and the causes the number of nurses leaving the country to decline. This leads to an increase in the quantity of nurses in the nation.
On the other hand, if there are given the opportunity to decide on where they want to practice, it will greatly help in their professional growth. In other words, before they will be allowed to practice in a different country, they are required to require with their professional bodies in that country. and this cannot happen without them writing the professional exams of that nation. Thereby causing them to first read and acquire some basic knowledge on the new place's policy.
In counclusion, I would say that although restricting them in the country has its own benefit, giving them free rein is more benrficial to their personal growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the first body paragraph provides a relevant example regarding the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, the second body paragraph is underdeveloped and lacks a concrete example to support the claim about professional growth. The argument regarding 'professional exams' is a bit vague and does not fully explain how working abroad specifically enhances growth compared to staying home. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and specific examples to ensure the reader fully understands your reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'and the causes the number of nurses leaving the country to decline.' Additionally, some transitions are mechanical. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your sentences flow naturally into one another without grammatical interruptions.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. You use some relevant terms like 'brain drain,' 'mandated,' and 'professional growth.' However, there are instances of word choice errors and repetition. For example, 'deem it fit to' is slightly unnatural in this context, and 'require with their professional bodies' is incorrect usage. There are also minor spelling errors, such as 'counclusion' and 'benrficial.' To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and ensure accurate spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. For instance, 'if there are given the opportunity' should be 'if they are given,' and 'the causes the number' is syntactically incorrect. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments like 'and this cannot happen without them writing the professional exams of that nation.' To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed accurately without missing auxiliary verbs or incorrect prepositions.
