Student answer (Band 5.5)

As we know that professionals such as doctor's and engineers are required in all the countries over all the world. However the question is that in which country does these professionals should work? So many peoples beleive that these should be required in the country where they did their training. However from my opinion a professionalist who had worked hard to achieve such a high post should work in the desired country ge wants to. Because the main reason behind that these should be work in other countries is all about exchange of ideas and mindset. As we talk about some new ideas if all professionalist would be from one country then the development should be only in one country. All the countries would be unable to develop. Moreover for development of all the nations the professionalist should be sent to different countries after their training. So that they could be able to learn some new ideas and some new things from that country. These innovative ideas would help a professionalist home country for its better development and also for the country for whom he is working. If there are good engineers in all the countries then it would help all the countries to develop a great infrastructure. If all the countries would work together as a family then it would lead to good relationships between two countries and there would be many more benefits of this. Moreover in same context if there are good doctors all over tha world in all the countries, if any disease spread in the world. Then if all the countries are together and each country had good doctors the it could be very much easy to cope with that disease and finding a solution of that particular disease. A good example is of Corona virus which was spread in 2019 and all the countries worked as a team and was successful in finding the vaccine .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding the benefits of international cooperation. While the example of the COVID-19 vaccine is relevant, the essay lacks depth in exploring the counter-argument regarding the 'brain drain' or the economic investment countries make in training their professionals. The position is consistent, but the arguments could be more nuanced to reach a higher band. The essay remains focused on the prompt throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into a single large block of text, which significantly hinders coherence. Paragraphing is essential for IELTS Task 2 to separate the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. While the writer uses some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'However', their usage is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. The progression of ideas is present, but the lack of clear paragraph breaks makes the flow feel disjointed and difficult to follow at times. Improved paragraphing would greatly enhance the logical structure of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There is frequent repetition of basic words such as 'country', 'professionalist' (which is non-standard usage), and 'develop'. The student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'infrastructure' and 'vaccine', but the overall range is limited. Word choice errors, such as using 'professionalist' instead of 'professional' or 'doctor's' with an unnecessary apostrophe, occur frequently and detract from the professional tone of the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'these professionals should work'), incorrect pluralization (e.g., 'doctor's'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'from my opinion'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and misused commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the response from achieving a higher score in this criterion.
