Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, though the development is uneven. The first half of the essay is written in a fragmented, informal style with limited development of ideas. The second half shifts abruptly into a bulleted list format, which is not appropriate for an IELTS essay. While the ideas regarding 'Individual Autonomy' and 'Global Knowledge Exchange' are relevant, they are presented as notes rather than a cohesive, argumentative essay. To improve, you must write in full, connected paragraphs and ensure that your arguments are explained and supported with clear examples rather than just listed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. The transition from the initial paragraphs to the bulleted list is jarring and disrupts the flow of the argument. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas; for example, the jump from discussing government jobs to 'Individual Autonomy' is abrupt. Paragraphing is not used effectively, as the second half of the text is presented as a list of points rather than a logical progression of thought. To improve, focus on using transition words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') to connect your sentences and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'People can not easy this imagen' and 'belt our experience', which impede clarity. While there is an attempt to use more academic terms in the latter half of the essay, such as 'fundamental right' and 'cross-border collaboration', these are inconsistent with the rest of the text. You need to focus on using words in their correct context and improving your control over basic collocations to ensure your meaning is conveyed accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often make the text difficult to follow. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('they are believe'), incorrect word order, and sentence fragments ('Because they are believe that professionals...'). The use of punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly in the first paragraph. The range of structures is limited, and the errors are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofreading for common errors in tense and article usage.
