Student answer (Band 6.0)
People have different opinions about where professionals like doctors and engineers should work after they finish their studies. Some people think they must work in the country where did their training, but others believe they should be free to work in another country if they wish. In my opinion, I agree that they should have the rights to move another country, if , her country situation and state is bad.
There are reasons why some people want to stay and work in their home country. First, training a doctor or an engineer costs a lot of government money. Therefore, these professionals should stay to work and help their local people. Second, many poor countries do not have enough doctors and engineers. If all of them leave to go to richer countries, the local hospitals and buildings will not have enough good workers to run properly.
On the other hand, I believe that professionals should be allowed to move to another country. Everyone wants to have a better job, higher salary, and better life for their family, so they should have the chance to move. In addition, when these experts work abroad, they can learn many new skills and use advanced technologies. After a few years, they can come back home and use this knowledge to help their own country develop.
In conclusion, although if doctors and engineers work in their training country has some benefits for the local community, I think Governments should give them better salaries so that they will want to stay willingly.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the economic burden of training and the personal desire for career advancement. However, the development is somewhat limited; for instance, the point about professionals returning home to help their country is mentioned but not fully explored with specific examples or deeper analysis. The position is consistent throughout, though the introduction is slightly awkward in its phrasing regarding the 'country situation'. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is extended with more detailed explanations or concrete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. The progression of ideas is easy to follow, moving from the argument for staying to the argument for mobility, and finally to a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'First', 'Second', 'On the other hand', and 'In addition' are used effectively to link sentences and paragraphs. However, the use of these devices is somewhat mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, though the transition in the final paragraph is slightly abrupt. Overall, the structure is sound and supports the reader's understanding of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task and allows the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is a range of topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'professionals', 'advanced technologies', and 'local community'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there is a lack of more sophisticated or 'less common' lexical items that would demonstrate a higher level of control. Some phrasing is slightly repetitive or simplistic, such as 'better job, higher salary, and better life'. To improve, the student should aim to incorporate more precise collocations and academic vocabulary to enhance the sophistication of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. For example, 'where did their training' is missing a subject, and 'if , her country situation' contains punctuation and pronoun errors. Additionally, the sentence 'although if doctors and engineers work in their training country has some benefits' is syntactically incorrect. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of error-free complex structures would significantly improve the band score.
