Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's rapidly evolving world, working of professionals in a country they did their training, or working anywhere they wish has become a matter of considerable debate. Some believe that they should only work in the country they had completed their training, others argue that they should be free to work anywhere. This essay will discuss both perspectives before explaining why I believe that they should be free to work in another country if they wish.
One main reason why some people believe that, professionals specifically doctors and engineers should work in a country they had completed their training is that company had given them practical training and experience from which they can gain more knowledge that how things actually works. They should join that industry after completing their trainings instead of applying somewhere else or by moving abroad to get more earnings. By working in their own country, they can help their people like doctors can help people by giving a proper treatment, similarly engineers can help big tech unicorns to grow and stand out at a global position.
On the other hand, people who believe that professionals can work anywhere they want to, think that if they get more respect and money in other country so what is the issue in moving there. For example, in many countries, even after giving better treatments and amazing tech projects, doctors and engineers are not getting the position or respect they deserve. While, in other countries, they can get more increments, also they can earn more money instead of their own country, so they choose to leave.
To conclude, although in other countries professionals get more career opportunities and salaries, I believe that, they should focus on making their own coutry more developed and achieve a higher global position.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the argument regarding the 'country's investment' in professionals is mentioned but not fully explored in terms of economic or social impact. Similarly, the conclusion introduces a new perspective—that professionals should stay to develop their own country—which contradicts the opinion stated in the introduction ('they should be free to work in another country'). This inconsistency weakens the overall position and makes the argument feel slightly disjointed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the other hand' and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as '...so what is the issue in moving there'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for instance, the phrase 'company had given them' lacks a clear antecedent, as the prompt refers to the country of training rather than a specific company. Overall, the progression of ideas is coherent, but the flow could be improved with more sophisticated linking.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'tech unicorns' and 'career opportunities'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of imprecise word choice or awkward phrasing, such as 'giving a proper treatment' instead of 'providing medical care' or 'increments' used in a context where 'higher salaries' or 'better remuneration' would be more appropriate. The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the message but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('in a country', 'in other country'), verb forms ('how things actually works'), and sentence construction ('...instead of their own country, so they choose to leave'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some unnecessary commas and missing articles. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the argument, they occur frequently enough to indicate a lack of control over more complex grammatical structures.
