Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0
The response is severely under-length, containing only 86 words against the required 250-word minimum. Because of this, the task is only addressed minimally and the ideas are left completely under-developed. While the student does introduce both views and state a personal opinion in the introduction, such as 'I completely believe that they should be free to work in any country', the second paragraph breaks off mid-sentence with 'Furthermore', failing to provide any discussion or examples. Consequently, the requirements of Task 2 are not fulfilled, which severely limits the band score under Task Achievement according to the official descriptors for minimum word length infractions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
Due to the extreme brevity of the text, it is difficult to fully assess organizational progression and paragraphing. The response consists of an introductory paragraph and a single incomplete sentence for the second body paragraph. Although basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'Furthermore' are attempted, the abrupt truncation of the text prevents any meaningful logical sequence or development. There is no clear overall progression or successful structural control, meaning the text falls into the lower bands for coherence and cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, such as 'professionals', 'doctors', 'engineer', 'country', and 'work'. There are noticeable collocation and grammatical word-form errors, notably 'Some people of the society believes' (should be 'Some people in society believe') and 'doctors and engineers are only practiced for their country'. The lexical range is extremely limited and minimally adequate only for basic expression, showing little ability to use less common vocabulary or demonstrate precise word choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'Some people of the society believes that professionals like doctors and engineers should work in the country where they have completed their training'. However, there are fundamental subject-verb agreement errors, such as 'people... believes'. Furthermore, the text stops abruptly mid-sentence at 'Furthermore', resulting in incomplete structures. While basic sentences are formed, the grammatical range is limited and accuracy is weak, though the few complete clauses are mostly understandable.
