Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people think that professionals, such as doctor and engineers should be required to work in the birth country where they did their trainings, while others believe they should be free to work in another country if they wish.

Further, people get their trainings in their own nation and become a professionals as well and after that they think to move abroad, while other people belive that when they become a doctor or engineers they want serve they birth nation.

On the one hand, few people think to move abroad because they want to improve their skill and as well as to earn more income to settle they lifestyle as well. For example, some professionals wants to gain their knowledge more to learn the highest technology methods such as doctors they want to upgrade their surgericals items and the engineers as well the technonlogy is also developing fast to learn and keep updated their talent according to the fast growing technological methods.

On the other hand, in my opinion i believe that professionals such as doctors and engineers should serve to their nation and help to nation to grow and with the present technology methods.Although they the right to choose what is best for their future but if their to the nation and provide their talent to help the people who are actually need the treatments and all. For instance, doctors should serve their talent to save the lives of the own nation as well as engineers aslo helps with their ideas to develop the nation with the technology to build the structure of the nation.

In conclusion, some professionals have the right to work in the country or move to abroad, while they should have their own rights to choose for their better future.

In addition, if they will serve to their own nation it will develop fast as well as the engineers will help to build the infra structure of the nation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views—that professionals should work in their home countries and that they should be free to migrate—while also presenting a clear personal opinion. The writer's position is discernible throughout the essay, particularly in the body paragraphs where reasons and examples are provided. However, the ideas are somewhat repetitious and lack deep extension. For instance, the discussion on why professionals move abroad mentions gaining skills and earning more income, but the supporting examples, such as 'doctors they want to upgrade their surgericals items', are vague and unclearly expressed. Similarly, the conclusion introduces repetitive points. Because all parts of the task are addressed and a position is maintained, albeit with under-developed support and some tangential phrasing, the response fits well within Band 5.5 to 6.0, settling safely at Band 5.5 due to limited and repetitive development.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays a basic structural layout with introductory, body, and concluding paragraphs, demonstrating some overall organization. However, paragraphing is somewhat erratic; the second paragraph is exceptionally brief and functions almost as a continuation of the introduction rather than a developed point. Cohesive devices are used, but they are frequently mechanical, repetitive, or inaccurate, such as starting consecutive sentences with 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand', or using awkward connectors like 'Further' and 'In addition'. Furthermore, referencing is at times unclear, as seen in confusing pronoun use like 'if their to the nation'. There is no clear overall progression of ideas, as the arguments tend to circle back on themselves without advancing. These issues place the response firmly in the Band 5.0 range for coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating topic-related words such as 'professionals', 'engineers', 'technological methods', and 'infrastructure'. However, there are numerous word choice errors and awkward collocations throughout the text, such as 'birth country', 'trainings' (used as a countable noun), 'surgericals items', and 'settle they lifestyle'. Spelling errors and incorrect word forms appear frequently, such as 'belive' and 'infra structure'. While the intended meaning is generally retrievable despite these flaws, the frequent inaccuracies in less common vocabulary and word formation prevent the essay from achieving a higher band. Consequently, the lexical resource aligns with a Band 5.0 score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty and grammatically fractured. There are multiple instances of severe grammatical breakdown, missing verbs, and run-on sentences, such as in the fourth paragraph: 'Although they the right to choose what is best for their future but if their to the nation and provide their talent...' This sentence lacks main verbs and proper clause structure. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing spaces after periods and comma splices. Errors in basic grammar—such as subject-verb agreement ('professionals wants') and pronoun case ('settle they lifestyle')—occur frequently and occasionally impede the reader's understanding. These persistent structural errors and lack of grammatical control place the essay at a Band 5.0 level.
