Student answer (Band 5.0)

In a rapidly evolving world, the issue of professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the country where they did their training has sparked considerable debate, with opinions divided on whether it is beneficial or harmful. While both sides , I am strongly inclined to agree with the view that they should have free to work in another country. This essay will present compelling reasons and real-world examples in support of my perspective.

To begin with, one reason to support this is that if we they could work wherever they want so they could earn as much they want. Moreover, they could get high exposure of diffrent kind of people which have so many diffrent problems. Therefore, the benefits of this approach clearly outweigh any potential drawbacks.

Equally important is the fact that they should be required to work in the country where they did their training because if they wen to another country there will be a massive braindrain in that country. Although, many proffesional would work in the country where they are trained but some would definetly went to diffrent countries thus, it would be a great loss to that country where they have done training.

The inexorable discussion on this subject matter can keep ongoing but observing the finer nuance and keeping a deep veneration to the facts, I espouse my notion that many proffesionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be free to work in another country if they wish.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to discuss both views regarding whether professionals should be required to work in their home country or allowed to work abroad, and it includes a clear personal position stating that they should be free to work elsewhere. However, the development of ideas is limited. For instance, the second paragraph mentions earning money and getting high exposure, but these points are underdeveloped and repetitive. Furthermore, the length requirement of 250 words is not met as the text contains 249 words, resulting in a minor penalty under Task Achievement. Because the arguments are only partially extended and the word count falls just short of the minimum, the response fits best within Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, featuring an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Some basic cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'Equally important'. However, the overall logical progression is flawed. In the third paragraph, the student attempts to present the opposing view regarding 'brain drain', but the transition is awkward and the sentence structure breaks down. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'if we they could work wherever they want', leading to mechanical and repetitive cohesion. These limitations place the response at Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with several spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as 'diffrent' instead of 'different', 'wen' instead of 'went', 'braindrain', and 'proffesional'. There are attempts to use less common items like 'inexorable', 'veneration', and 'espouse' in the conclusion, but these are used inappropriately in context, indicating a lack of precision. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic topic, the noticeable errors and restricted range mean the response does not exceed Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. Examples include grammatical confusion in phrases like 'the issue of professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be required' and 'if we they could work wherever they want so they could earn as much they want.' There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and sentence construction that cause some difficulty for the reader and impede smooth reading. Because complex forms are rarely accurate, the grammar fits the Band 5 descriptors.
