Student answer (Band 6.0)
"Minds like hearts go where they are loved and appreciated." Many people believe that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, can go abroad and start their carrer in foreign countries if they want to. On the contrary, there is a group of people who believe that professionals should work in the country where they did their training. In the upcoming paragraphs, both views will be outlined.
To start with, people, who say that professionals, such as doctors and enginners, should work in their home country where they did their country, argue that such talented professionals are actually an assest of their countries. Therefore, after completing their tarining, they must serve their home country. By staying in their home country, they would be able to contribute to economy. Indian author in her book argue that talented individuals are actually an engine of their country. If they leave their country, the country cannot progress.
Moreover, if professioanls plan to move aborad, there will be a dearth of knowlege for the next generations. For instance, if all teachers move to another country, who will pass the knowlege to the future generations. This situation may not only increase illiteracy but also start moving backward. Pakistan is a case in point where braindrain is at its peak. Talented individuals are not present in the country, consequently, the country is lagging behind in techonology. On the other hand, China is a perfect example; its youth is serving the nation. Resultantly, China is on of the most advanced countries.
On the contrary, there are some people who maintain that professionals are free to work in another country if they wish to. They believe that just like a flower needs a better environment to flourish, similarly talent requires a good environmnet to bloom. They claim that talent cannot bloom particulary in developing countries as these countries are facing problems like terrorsim, political instability, and nepotism. Therefore, professioanls in order to progess must go abroad.
As far as my opinion is concerend, I would say that professionals must serve their home country becasue individuals are nothing wthout their country. For this, governments across the world must play their role and provide good environment so that talented youth may not have to decide for leaving their country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on whether professionals should work in their home country or abroad, and clearly states the writer's own opinion in the conclusion. Ideas are extended and supported with examples, such as the comparison between Pakistan and China regarding brain drain. However, there is a tendency to over-generalise in parts, and the development is occasionally limited by repetitive reasoning. Overall, the response fulfills the requirements for a Band 6.5 or solid Band 6 by engaging with all prompt elements and presenting a clear position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a clear overall organisation with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing each view, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To start with', 'Moreover', and 'On the contrary' are used to signal the progression of ideas, although referencing and linking can occasionally feel mechanical. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately to separate distinct arguments. However, minor shifts in logical flow keep it from reaching higher bands. Overall, the structural arrangement ensures the text is coherent and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating attempts at less common items such as 'brain drain', 'political instability', and 'nepotism'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the essay, including 'carrer', 'enginners', 'assest', 'tarining', 'aborad', 'knowlege', and 'concerend'. These errors indicate a lack of precision, though they rarely impede communication. The range is sufficient for some flexibility, but lexical control prevents a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing conditionals and subordinate clauses effectively. However, grammatical and punctuation errors are frequent, particularly with missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and agreement issues (e.g., 'Indian author in her book argue', 'individuals are nothing wthout their country', 'so that talented youth may not have to decide for leaving'). While these errors do not impede communication, they demonstrate that simple sentences are often more reliable than complex structures.
