Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to discuss both views on whether professionals should work where they trained and provides an opinion in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is heavily curtailed due to the severe under-length issue. The official length requirement is a minimum of 250 words, whereas this text contains only 202 words. Consequently, the arguments regarding familiarity and career opportunities are under-developed, particularly in the second body paragraph, which cuts off prematurely without fully addressing the second viewpoint or supporting the student's stance adequately. Because the task instructions and length criteria are only partially fulfilled, the score reflects these limitations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a basic overall structure, featuring an introductory paragraph, two body paragraphs, and clear attempts at transitional markers such as "One the one hand" and "However". However, paragraphing is disrupted by the incomplete nature of the response, and cohesive devices are sometimes misused or mechanical, as seen in the fragmented phrasing "The primary reason why some people because..." Referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression suffers because ideas are left hanging without proper elaboration or conclusion. Overall organisation is present, but progression is hindered by underdeveloped thoughts and structural lapses.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, featuring frequent spelling errors such as "enginerrs", "whreas", "complited", "familior", "enviornment", "peoplw", "beliece", and "mouch". While the student attempts some less common terms like "opportunities", "communication", and "satisfaction", lexical control is weak. Word choices are frequently unnatural or inaccurate, such as "they can income mouch", which impedes communication and demonstrates a limited lexical range suitable for this task level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text shows a mix of simple and emerging complex sentence forms, but grammatical accuracy is low. There are numerous foundational errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ("professionals... should be needed", "people because the familior enviornment"), awkward phrasing, and missing verbs. For instance, the sentence "The primary reason why some people because the familior enviornment" lacks a main verb entirely. While meaning can sometimes be pieced together, frequent structural flaws and punctuation issues cause significant difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from reaching a higher band.
