IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people believe that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the country where they did their training. Others believe they should be free to work in another country if they wish.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that professionals such as doctors and engineers should work in the country they got training from, due to multiple reasons. Firstly, they are well aware of the culture, people, work settings, laws and technology of that country. Secondly, they must pay back their nation. Thirdly, they might feel comfort of familiarity in their own country of training.
On the other hand, some people believe they should be free to work around anywhere in the world because they should not limit themselves. Global exposure provides immense development and growth opportunities for better learning alongside financial and professional stability. They get to work in different systems, infrastructures and people. They can live and work in the country of their choice.
In my opinion, people might want comfort of their own country and stability, alongside the passion of serving their own nation. But they should not restrict themselves. They must move countries looking for growth opportunities and expand their potential in their fields. They must choose their dream country to live into and enjoy the life granted to them.
I, being a healthcare management professional, want to move abroad in my dream country and work in a different environment in order to reach my maximum potential.
