Student answer (Band 5.5)

some individuals believe that professionals like doctors and engineers should work in their own country where they did their training, while other people suggest the they should be free to work in another countries if they want to. In my opinion, working in a country where they studied is a goog but limiting their potential to stay in one country is not a successful choice. They should be allowed do employment im other countries as well.

First of all, professionals like doctors and engineers are important for every country because they are like the pillars of country. If a doctor work in his own country, he can help his country nation. for example, a doctor who is expert in his work can treat patients and save millons of life. Secondly, it will be a wonderful example for future generation because thy can learn alot from them. As for enginees they are also do goods in their country by making some fantatisc buildings which will become a visiting spot, so that other countries individuals come to explore which will benefit the country.

A part from that, doing employment in other countries wil give them high salary and and a stable future income. they can earn more in other countries compare to their owm country. Furthermore, developed nations can have more advanced tools to work with and they can learn new thing their. For example, they will experience the new culture and get the opportunity to explore more.

In conclusion, working in birth country is a good choice but working in other can provide a lot of new thing.both have their own benefits so its better to let them choice what they want to do in their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views—that professionals should work in their home countries and that they should be free to work abroad—while also presenting a clear personal opinion. The writer's position is maintained throughout the essay, concluding that both approaches have merits and that professionals should be allowed to choose. Ideas are supported with general arguments and examples, such as doctors saving millions of lives and engineers building tourist attractions. However, some arguments are slightly repetitive and under-developed, preventing the essay from reaching a higher band. For instance, the discussion on developed nations offering advanced tools could be extended further. Overall, the task is adequately addressed in line with Band 6 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay presents a clear overall arrangement with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different ideas, such as the benefits of staying home versus the advantages of working abroad. Cohesive devices are employed, including transitional phrases like 'First of all', 'Secondly', 'A part from that', and 'In conclusion'. However, some of these devices are somewhat mechanical or incorrectly formatted, such as 'A part from that'. Referencing is generally clear, though occasional lapses in logical progression prevent the text from achieving a higher score. The overall flow is satisfactory for a Band 6.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with attempts to incorporate subject-specific terminology such as 'professionals', 'doctors', 'engineers', 'developed nations', and 'stable future income'. However, there are frequent spelling errors and word choice inaccuracies throughout the text, including 'goog' instead of 'good', 'im' instead of 'in', 'millons' instead of 'millions', 'enginees' instead of 'engineers', 'fantatisc' instead of 'fantastic', 'wil' instead of 'will', 'compare' instead of 'compared', and 'owm' instead of 'own'. Despite these noticeable slips, the meaning is generally clear and communication is not severely impeded, placing the lexical performance at a Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capacity for subordination and coordination, such as in the opening sentence. However, control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent, and numerous errors occur throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('a doctor work'), missing articles ('like the pillars of country'), incorrect preposition usage ('in other countries' versus 'their'), and punctuation spacing errors. While these errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, the writer does successfully produce some error-free clauses. This aligns well with the criteria for a Band 5.
