IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Some people believe that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the country where they did their training. Others believe they should be free to work in another country if they wish.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Number of people think that prfessionals, like doctors and engineers, should be need to work in that country where they did their training. I believe that it is a good point because of critical shortages, economical growth. Others believe they should have rights to work in another country if they wish. I believe that it helps to provide personal liberty and better pay and growth.

Commencing with fundamental reasons, why professionals should be required to work in country where they done their training. Primarily, it helps to reduce critical shortage, developing nations often lack enough trained workers. If local doctors and engineers leave, hospitals and building projects suffer with various problems. Subsequently, it helps to increase economic growth of country, Many governments pay a lot of money to support public universities and medical schools. People who study there have a duty to help their local community and professionals like doctors and engineers should either be required to stay in their training country or allowed to work abroad freely, with both sides offering strong arguments tied to economic growth and personal freedom.

Furthermore, some people believe that professionals should free to work in other countries according to their wish. firstly, person should have their own personal liberty, Individuals have a fundamental right to choose where they live, work, and build their lives. Secondly, better pay rate and growth is a reason, Developed nations often offer higher salaries, better research facilities, and advanced technology that help professionals grow.

Professionals should have the freedom to move globally, but governments can ask graduates to complete a short period of national service—such as two or three years—if their training was heavily funded by the public. This respects personal choice while protecting local communities from sudden talent drains.

Both sides have strong points. Forcing professionals to stay forever limits personal freedom and can lead to low job satisfaction. However, letting everyone leave immediately harms local healthcare and infrastructure. A fair solution is a mandatory period of local service to repay public education costs, followed by complete freedom to work abroad.
