Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is a well-known debate that phycisians and engineers should practice in their home country where they have studied and completed their trainings, while another school of thoughout are not in favour of this argumnet and presents their opinion by the coviction that everyone should have the right and freedom to work and practice their knoweldge wherever they want, in any part of the world. I strongly agree with the later, as a person is born free and they should have the right to work and live in any part of the world.

Some people around the world believe that certain preofessionals like engineers and doctors should work and serve people in the country where they have completed their education and further training. The reason being these professions are highly practice-based and require high level of knowledge and expertise that are specific to a ceratin regions, and these practice or knowledge can sometime be useless in far away regions. For example, if a doctor has studied and trained in the khurram agency region of Peshawar, Pakistan, and then he moves to New Zealand, which is the other end of the world, where the conditions and health related factors are completel different from where he trained and studied, thus rendering his years of knowledge ad experience useless to a large extent. These reasons can be held as a justification by this school of thought and force their ideaology of professtionals ought to remain in their home country, onto the global platform.

In contrast, another group of people completely contradicts this idea and argues that a human beings born free and it is their basic right to reside and work freely in any part of the world. The same is said to be true for professtionals like doctors and engineers who wants to practice their profession in other countries. Besides that, doctors by professions are always in high demands, there can never be enough doctor to save lives. so while some countries might have a huge number of graduates every year ready to hit the market, others might have record low graduates. This imbalance is stabilized by doctors and engineers that migrates from one country to another thus stabilizing the dynamic and help in fuliflling the gaps in the market.

To sum it up, both schools of thought have their own reason for their arguments. while some oppose it with a good reason another contradicts with a classical argument. From my perspective, it is fair to side with the later because you cannot have too many doctors or engineers. Moreover, their is always an imbalance around the word and to stabilize the shortage of such important professions it is only logical that immigrations should be facilitated for more inflow.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that professionals should work where they trained and that they should be free to migrate—and clearly states the writer's own opinion in favor of the latter. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as the mention of regional medical conditions like in the Khyber Agency region. However, there is a tendency to overgeneralize slightly, and the arguments could be pushed into even greater analytical depth to reach the higher bands. Nevertheless, the main position is maintained consistently throughout the essay, fulfilling the core requirements of Band 7.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a clear overall progression and logical organization. Each paragraph has a discernible focus, moving from an introduction of the debate, to the first viewpoint, to the opposing viewpoint, and finally to a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as 'In contrast,' 'Besides that,' and 'To sum it up.' However, some cohesion is slightly mechanical or repetitive, and referencing occasionally falters, such as 'the later' instead of 'the latter.' Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, keeping the flow of the argument logical and easy to follow throughout.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task and attempts less common lexical items such as 'conviction,' 'imbalance,' and 'stabilized.' However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'phycisians' instead of 'physicians,' 'trainings' used as an uncountable noun, 'thoughout' instead of 'thought,' 'argumnet' instead of 'argument,' 'knoweldge' instead of 'knowledge,' and 'preofessionals' instead of 'professionals.' While these errors do not impede overall communication, their frequency prevents the essay from achieving a higher lexical band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses (e.g., 'where they have studied and completed their trainings'). However, frequent grammatical and mechanical errors are present, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('a human beings born free' and 'their is always an imbalance'), incorrect capitalization ('khurram agency'), and punctuation slips. Although the meaning remains understandable, these persistent inaccuracies mean that error-free sentences are not in the majority, placing the performance firmly in the Band 6 category.
